Why is James Degale 168lb fighting a 147lb fighter with 18 losses in an eight round fight? This fight is a joke, he needs to knock him out in 1 round. He ducked Uzcategui for a 147lb club fighter.

It's not his fault. This is Haymon's doing trying to micro manage everything but not really knowing what the hell he is doing. The guy DeGale is fighting has a horrid record. All the mutha****ing fighters that PBC has and this is who they cooked up for a former champion, road warrior, and top notch super middle weight fighter?
DeGale and Eubanks Jr. could have fought each other and made more money.

This was what I was thinking when Oscar was chasing Spence to fight Canelo. Saul is the middleweight champion now, no more pulling up welterweights. There are plenty of 154-160guys for him to fight.

I don't think he deserves flack for this. After all he could have dropped the belt to Eubank Jr. and made a ton of money as @Willie Maeket said. Looks like Degale is taking a step back and looking for a few easy fights to recuperate after several hard fights and work on some things. In this instance I don't think Haymon deserves blame either, Degale is trying to rebuild and recover. He wasn't and might not ever be ready for the elite level again, but he's taking a few steps back and TRYING to get back to that point. That's my reading of things anyways.

James Degale won a gold medal, maybe he wants to take an easier fight but this is a joke. He should at least fight someone like Jleon or Rosado, before fighting Eubanks jr.

He also weighed in at 172. He’s a ****ing fraud. All the respect we had for him after his road warrior exploits vanished when he shat it Fromm Uzcategui. Let’s hope the fight with Young Christopher gets made in December and Euby can render him a member of the non-Warrior’s Code alumni.

You would have respected him more had he dropped the belt to an undeserving mediocre talent like Eubank Jr. and then retired? He doesn't have a belt of any kind here, I seriously don't see how the man can receive the flack that he's getting here.

He could have kept that title, try to beat Uzcategui and then fight Euby in a massive world title fight. Uzcategui would have been a huge fight. He knew he would lose it so dropped the belt. I think it’s weak but that’s just me.

He also could have paid Uzi off and cashed out against Eubank Jr. Personally I'm glad that didn't happen. Whether he completely bitches out or not is irrelevant. Also he did it without ****ing the division over which he most certainly could have. I can't bring myself to **** on someone who's been in the rough kind of fights he's been in lately.

Still a 147lber is a stretch. Could have at least dragged a UK Middleweight up to SMW.

I get it. But it's not a fight of any real magnitude so it's hard to be THAT outraged. Journeymen get fights where they can get them. If Degale hadn't faced the who's who at SMW and in a really rough stretch then I'd be pissed. But context matters. It's a **** fight but yeah...
