Every JT fight is interesting whether you like him or not.

James Toney is bad ass who the **** cares. 40 years old started his career just under 160lbs and is now rock and rolling with heavyweights and he lost all of his physical advantages over just about every heavyweight yet he still was able to pull off wins just off his boxing skills. He LOVES boxing and its funny how people want this guy to retire, yeah something bad could happen to him but he loves doing this so much I think he'd rather die or just lose really bad in the ring before he really considers retiring. Even this version of Toney which is like 10% of his former self is great to watch, I enjoy watching him fight because of who he was and what hes done already not really what hes doing right now.

because like most of the heavy division any one stands a chance of winning a portion of the title and as toney can hang with most of the top ten then why not

    That's a pretty immature response.
A lot of people use steroids.
And so what, steroids are overrated anyway.
    They don't give you skill.

I thought he looked pretty well in those 3 rounds against Rahman. He seemed more fluid and slipped alot of punches. He had a nice jab working and of course his counter right, though not perfect, seemed a lot better then when we last saw it. James Toney is a fighter who, like someone already stated, probably feels he has something to prove. Not to repeat what everyone else has been saying but who knows what could happen with the heavyweights we have today. Toney vs. Haye might change his mind about things.

He used roids to help him recover from an injury, right? Had a doctors perscription and everything.

He's old, slow, and not much left of his former self, but he's also not at much risk of being seriously hurt. He has a shot at winning a portion of the title, and is more interesting to watch than most heavies if you understand boxing, his style. I love the guy, hope he takes part in training some day.

He is still competitive against B+ HW so there is still chance he get next title shot and finally be HW champion. I think it hurts Toney that Jones won HW title and he doesnt ...

I was loving the Rahman Toney fight this time around. Looked like Rahman was on his way to school after round 1.

Toney is a great fighter, he's really shining at HW I just wish he would have come up sooner. I wouldent write him off against Klitschko but I wouldent put odds on him..I would buy the ppv and cheer for him though.

I think Toney will be remembered as the Archie Moore of this HW division?

toney is one of the best out there, his last fight proves he still got a lot left in him, and even though he loss to peter i still think he'll be competitive. How many saw or predict that he would KOed someone like rahman? And he was inactive prior to that fight..

Good point. Toney lives to fight. Big difference between him and most fighters.

I thought he looked surprisinlgy sharp. I was shocked. If you watch him sparring with Brewster before the fight, his skills are still there, and he really looked as good as he did around the time of the Ruiz fight.

Sure it'd be nice if he'd retire, but if he's willing to get in decent shape like he was the other night, he's still a player.

And for you guys who bash Toney based on his legacy, his legacy is cemented.

In my mind he's in the HOF on the basis of two fights alone: Barkely and McCallum I. Both incredible performances of the highest order.

How do you know how rich he is? Boxers are often stupid with their money, and don't get paid as much as they are supposed to anyway.

And if he was rich, well, then maybe he wants more money. Rich people are often greedy and want more. You'd be hard-pressed to fight someone who's happy with the money they make and DON'T want more.
