As in Calzaghe? I think its because hes one of the 10 best boxers in the world irrespective of weight class.
Because Joe Calzaghe is simply too good to be denied his status even with all the anti-european American boxing media propaganda about. He would be undisputibly top 2 were he American.
OH GOD....BLAH BLAH BLAH America sucks BLAH BLAH BLAH (another anti american rant from a european....contradiction at its finest)!!! Listen, I have Calzaghe at 3....because he belongs at 3....no higher. He has had a great run vs subpar competition. He has dominated most of the people he has fought (tho again, the level of that comp was far lower than it ever should have been). He is greatly skilled and is a fun fighter to watch. He should definately be top10 in everyones list....no doubt about that.
If we count the number of Europeans listed in lists of the top 100 ATGs it is quite clear an extreme level of bias exists. Calzaghe - realistically he'll probably drop out of the top 3 in the next twelve months, due to age. Although from 2000 to 2006 he was arguably number one, possibly 2nd behind Roy Jones for a while.
iight heres my list: 1. Mayweather 2. Hopkins 3. Manny Pacquiao 4. Ricky Hatton 5. Wladimir Klitschoko 6. Miguel Cotto 7. Israel Vazquez 8. Jermain Taylor 9. Winky Wright 10. Juan Manuel Marquez 11. Shane Mosley 12. Joe Calzaghe 13. Mikkel Kessler FIXED LIST my list would be something like this by the way i dont want to take anything away from JC he is a great skilled fighter no doubt, but his acomplishments arnt enough
Cant say I agree. To say that if he was american he would be top 2.....Pacman is not american and he is top 2??? Why, because he earned it. Now we all know I love Calzaghe, but he has earned his position....bad and good.
