Guy could not make weight, repeatedly. Rightly or wrongly, perceived as a lack of dedication to be at one's best. Before he "got fat", he was awesome. As good as anybody.
Have u been following boxing for the last five years or did u just see a highlight video of guzman and looked up his Boxrec page?
Guzman's skills are undeniable, it's just his unprofessional way of not making the weight limit that turns away boxing fans.
Because he's a turd. He screwed over a lot of guys with his shenanigans, and frankly he's not nearly as good lately as he was in his prime.
He came in 2 weight classes above Funeka during their 2nd fight. Then came in overweight for the Campbell fight leading to a cancellation. After that, boxing and notable opponents pretty much had it with him. Now he's stuck fighting a bunch of nobodies. He's got talent, but he had his chance to become a star, and he blew it. He's on the decline and he won't get another shot.
i have only just recently heard about him. seen a short clip proclaiming his return. then watched his fights. I have read about his struggles to make weight but they put it in a way where it wasn't a big deal. alos i started this thread cause i wanted to know more.
