Why didnt his promoters get his fight replayed on UK terrestrial TV for example?

His management is to blame too, as they should be over seeing this and ensuring that he gets exposure in the UK

The likes of Campbell Hatton, Dave Allen and Conor Benn are far better known than Josh Taylor is...

Taylor needs to be asking his management team WTF they are doing...

He needs to get himself on UK TV from this point on that is for sure...He also needs to pay for articles in the major newspapers. Getting exposure in the major online newspapers isnt even that expensive.

He has ZERO profile at all in the UK, how is that even possible?

Taylor is certainly being poorly promoted. Only time Taylor a certain degree of exposure in the UK is the Prograis fight on Skysports.

When he turned over with McGuigans he never went with Hearn or Warren.

He deserves huge credit for taking the tough fights he has done in only 18 fights and to achieve what he has achieved. He has done it the right way. No easy fights to pad his record.

Unfortunately not aligning with either Matchroom or Queensbury in the UK means he's gone under the radar... similar to how Froch did before Eddie came along.

If he had been with Hearn from day 1 for example, then you would expect that he'd be a superstar today..... but then on the flip side of this would Matchroom have tried to match him more cautiously therefore meaning that he wouldn't have achieved what he has to date?

    He's just a boxer.
Boxing isn't mainstream sport in the UK any more, despite the success of British boxers lately.
Calzaghe wasn't a household name until towards the end of his career, he was a boring boxer fighting unknown chumps on non-PPV SKY SPORTS to a modest television audience.
Froch wasn't a household name until the end of his career, and only fleetingly popular due to the rivalry with Groves that captured the imagination of a casual audience.

None of the boxers Josh Taylor has fought are well-known to UK audience, outside of the very hardcore boxing fans.
He didn't get far in the 2012 Olympics, when several other UK boxers went further.
He's only had 18 fights, he's only been recognized world champion for 2 years, and a year of that he was out due to the pandemic disruption.

It takes time to become a household name, however good you are, if you're just a boxer in the light-welter division with no other selling point than being really good.

Joshua and Fury are household names in the UK, and a couple of other heavyweights are known too.
Chisora, who's been around for years and faced everyone, is known I think. Whyte has been hyped lately and is known.

Amir Khan is a household name but probably is retired. Khan's celebrity dates back to 2004 Olympics when he was 17 years old and GB's only representative at boxing, also winning silver.

    Who else ?

It's such a weird one. He was brought through so well on free to air TV.

It pains me to say this but with the hold Hearn has on the casual market, unless you sign with him, your chances of becoming a household name aren't high

Well, he is a convicted racist chav who doesn't have any charisma and fights at 10 stone. As others have rightly pointed out, he's also Scottish, and the English only get behind the Scottish if the PR game has been played in a particular way. A household name, are you having a laugh?

I also don't know why people care about how popular X, Y or Z is. It's not your bank account. But of course, sports fans try to live vicariously through their heroes. And there's the fact that sports fans want to get behind who's popular, the bandwagon effect etc.

A British accent is a broad term which only applies in the broadest sense. If you're trying to pinpoint a specific accent, then there's no such thing as a British accent.

He needs a tiktok or a youtube following such is the inane world we live in these days.

Jake Paul is famous simply for being an utter idiot.

I doubt JT cares about bring a household name anyway.

I keep reading this but he was not charged with racism. I read it was because he said something about how he looked gay. Also I seen the word 'orange' mentioned that would be more likely to do with sectarianism in Scotland.
