Why is Juan Manuel Marquez rated so highly??

    He has always been in everyones p4p lists for the past 5 years. Usually situated in the top 5. So i ask you; Why so high? Apart from the Pac knockout he aint done nothing! Pre-KO6 he still didnt really do much. Im not talking about how many titles he's won or how many divisions he's been in because i dont care. WHO HAS HE BEATEN to be ranked so damn high? This Mo'fuka is so damn overrated yet everybody just side steps him all the time. Please, educate me on why he's so good. His resume is far from impressive and by the looks of things on this site, people only care about resumes.

    When you take Pac out of the list:
    Salido
    Barrera
    Casamayor
    Diaz
    Katsidis
    Alvarado

    There are current younger boxers who have better resumes.

    He went 1-2-1 with Manny Pacquiao. To Juantards, that makes him the greatest Mexican fighter of all time.

    I just dont get it. Sure thats good. But his style just happened to neutralize that of Pac. What else has he done?

    And a fixed home town fight against Likar Ramos makes me wonder if all his fights there were staged

    he is a great counterpuncher.....a very good boxer....very technical.....some people appreciate that ****.....watching him work is always a pleasure.....if you dont like juan you prob DKSAB or really like it......

    and "take pac out of the equation"....now why would we do that?

    I think he's rated so highly based on his fan friendly style rather than his record. He's never been knocked out, but gets put down often, and always comes to fight.

    Im not diminishing his abilities. He is very good at what he does. But why you discredit other boxers 'who haven't got wins over elite competition' when JMM hasnt either

    Ya why? If PAC is the best or second best fighter of the last decade it's a big ****ing deal that he knocked him out and arguably beat him another time or two.

    i certainly dont discredit guys who dont have "wins" over elite competition.....if they have elite guys on their resume

    see....even in losses to floyd and manny(although we know how alot of us feel about those).....there are 5 fights against the top 2 guys of the generation....and many close ones in those 5 fights.......add that up with a pretty solid resume also.....and you have him at age 40 losing an SD to tim bradley(some rate bradley high...i think bradley is good...but not as good as some think....but thats opinion)....i think its impressive.....

    not to mention he just has a great technical style....i seriously love watching the dude fight.....

    i think you are looking at flak that guys like GGG and kovalev take.....ya they dont have any wins over elite competition......and thats ok....but they lack any elite comp on their resume at all

    what does buster douglas koing mike tyson have anything to do with pac/jmm fighting 4 damn good fights together?
