1.) Marquez has won World Titles in 4 different weight classes ...(something that only 4 other fighters in the history of boxing have ever accomplished)
2.) Marquez has fought in 17 World Title fights ...(more than any current fighter right now)
3.) Marquez has fought P4P Greats like Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Marco A. Barrera
4.) Marquez KO'd Pac brutally ...(something that no one has ever done)
5.) Marquez has beaten top & tough contenders like Juan Diaz, Robbie Peden, Michael Katsidis, Orlando Salido, Rocky Juarez, Manuel Medina (former World Champ), Mike Alvarado, etc.

if you think that's overrated, you're just being biased against JMM or you don't know much about boxing.

Which current young boxers have won World Titles in 4 weight classes, fought in 17 world titles, and been in the ring with the likes of Floyd, Pac, Barrera, Juan Diaz, etc.???

*******s always bring up "baby bull!". But yet don't mention that jmm had came up in weight to fight Diaz who was the champ at his home town. That was a great win.

Max kellerman here shows his excitement towards JMM, saying he is the real champ and feels JMM won both fights (was before the 3rd) & best of the fab 4. This was before hbo paid off commentators to nut hug.

Marquez is the real featherweight champion!: http://youtu.be/9Ewo7qzKU80

"For him to be able to go from*featherweight to lightweight and knock out two guys – Joel Casamayor and Juan Diaz – who nobody knocks out, that tells me that he’s one of the best featherweights of the last 30 years. I think he would have fit right in with the top featherweights of the late '70s and early '80s: Danny “Little Red” Lopez, Salvador Sanchez, Eusebio Pedroza, Wilfredo Gomez and Juan LaPorte." -Doug Fischer

Also I can't recall what fight it was after but, kellerman basically said pac cherry picked himself up to the 140 lb division and JMM's road to 130-140 was alot more difficult then pacs, claiming he fought real champs. Think it was post diaz or Katsidis fight.

Also when *******s down talk jmm they also trash Katsidis. Katsidis however was JMM mandatory at the time and had to fight him or loose his titles. Lw division was not so hot around that time and he only came up to chase pac.

Marquez has 7 official losses and 1 draw, but only twice has been really decisively beaten (Mayweather and Bradley).

Others are close, controversial decisions and one was a DQ.

You can argue Mayweather was actually his first loss aside from a disqualification in his first fight.

Alot of people had Marquez beating Bradley, so you cant really say he was decisively beaten by him.

The only significant name thats missing from Marquez' resume thats in Pacquiao's is Erik Morales.
On that, its well documented that the best featherweights of the MAB/Morales era, did'nt want any part of Marquez.

For the *******s that are clueless, back when Pacquiao first beat MAB, right after that fight Freddie Roach had commented that of all the featherweights that Pacquiao could possibly fight, he'd leave Marquez for last not only because it was a lesser money fight than MAB or Morales, but simply because he felt Marquez was the better of those 3 Mexican featherweights.
This is Roach saying this before Pacquiao even stepped into a ring with Juan Manuel Marquez or Erik Morales.
When Murad Muhamad made the Marquez fight right after Pacquiao had won the title from MAB, Roach publicly was saying Muhamad was'nt looking after Pacquiao's best interest.
Turns out Roach was absolutely correct on Marquez.

This is where you're wrong. Pacquiao has many names I would deem significant. Cotto, Hatton, DLH.

Pac's resume overall is way better. and they have had 3 mutual opponents, and Pacquiao did a quicker job on all three of them.

Cotto and Hatton both were beatdown before Pac fought them, and well all know DLH plight of coming into the ring a dead man walking weighing less than the midget Pacquiao.

How much do you really know about boxing. Let me tell you, you know very little.
Getting a job done quicker does'nt equate to being better.

Evander Holyfield twice stopping Iron Mike Tyson!
We both know who turned out to be the better of those two.

.......and for Pacquiao getting rid of opponents quicker?????
Juan Manuel Marquez KTFO6 Pacquiao, deal with it!!!! :deal

Hard fought, controversial, and legendary quadrilogy with Pacquiao.

His fourth fight with Pacquiao being the best win, fight, and KO of the year in a year he won many peoples' Fighter of the Year.

Won the lineal Lightweight championship with a good victory over Casamayor and had 3 good title defenses of that title; all highly entertaining.

Quality resume at 126/130 even if not all that deep. He is one of the great "weight jumpers" in the weight jumping era. People forget unifying two belts with wins over Manuel Medina, Derrick Gainer, Orlando Salido, Robbie Peden, and Terdsak Kokietgym plus Pac I all at 126 isn't the easily dismiss-able resume people make his run there out to be.

All of the blemishes on his resume are highly recognizable and easy to defend from a pro-Marquez resume debate. DQ1 in his pro debut. People claim robbery in first title shot against Norwood. Draw in epic first Pacquiao fight. People claim robbery in fight with Chris John (I am quick to point out my opinion that John won this fight). Defeat in highly controversial SD and MD in second and third Pacquiao fights. Defeat in a whitewash to Mayweather moving up two divisions. Defeat to Bradley in convincing yet SD manner.

He has already lost to Bradley, and Mayweather, and wouldn't beat Porter, Thurman, Alexander, Khan. For Marquez to be competitive with young lions, he needs to move back down in weight. He didn't want any of Provodnikov who is really limited. So probably 135. Marquez isn't a pound for pound guy to me. Beating Pac, was good, but Marquez wouldn't beat many other welters. He is too small, and gives up too much physically. He would get seriously hurt against somebody like Thurman.

You don't see anything impressive about beating Barrera and Pacquiao or a natural lightweight schooling top rated welterweights? Can you not see with your eyes that his great counter punching technique makes him one of the best boxers of the twenty-first century?

My point is he performed better against there mutual opponents (very decisively against 2 of them) which is relevant information for comparison, though not the be and end all.

A lot of people had Marquez winning over Bradley?
It was not shut out, but Bradley won clearly. No way you can give the fight to Marquez.
It's like saying Barrera is winning the first Pacquiao fight, until the tko at the 9th.
