I kinda agree to the OP. Yep the dudes a warrior and good boxer. But except for his 4 hard fought fights with Pac, dudes opposition seems overated. All he 's doing is whine through out his entire career.

    I've been robbed 6 times?? - GTFO!

Because the fights against prime Chris John and Freddie Norwood are JMM victories. Add to the fact that he's 40 years old and beating legit guys like Alvarado so has outstanding longevity.
Let's also not forget the fact that he DID have Pacquiao victories and they are a marquee name on his resume that cannot be avoided.
JMM lost to a true ATG in Mayweather who weighed a lot more than him and Marquez was looking fat and rubbish on fight night.
    JMM is an ATG.

Besides Pacquiao JMM failed to beat prime fighters Chris John, Freddie Norwood and Timothy Bradley.

I love how you have highlighted a line of my quote and putting emphasis on rejecting it without actually reading what i said before. I DONT CARE ABOUT TITLES. Im strictly talking about his resume so stop babbling on with your nonsense. If you minus Pacs name then he has nothing. And it's easy to minus his name because had the ref stopped him in the first round of their first fight he wouldnt have fought him another 90 times.

Hatton has a similar if not better resume if you exclude Pacs name in Marquez's resume. Fought and beat B+ level fighters depending how you look at it. But to answer your question: Current young boxers who have better RESUMES (Not title crap) Bradley, Garcia, Canelo (if he dominates Lara), Cotto (not young) Ward. Could maybe include Khan.

Its easy to say JMM KO6 of Pac>Any punch of SRR career but take that away and you dont have much. Just a guy who has failed everytime he stepped up and has a small list of B+ fighters on his list. I love watching him fight. He is fan friendly and deserves credit. But lets not get carried away here...

well there's not many other good boxers today better than him in terms of accomplishment so that's why he gets ranked high. in a good era of boxing he would be simply good instead of perceived as great like he is today

Mayweather, Ward, Pac, Rigondeux, Bradley all deserve to be ahead of him, so id have him at around 6.

but look at the rest of the candidates

Klitschko - who has he beat? just like you said, who cares about titles or numbers, he didn't beat anybody

Froch - Groves is far from impressive. Kessler is a solid win. Pascal is a solid win, but he wasnt developed. faded Taylor - average win. nothing he did is better than Marquez. He hasn't even fought anyone as good as Bradley who beat Marquez

Adonis Stevenson - great KO of Dawson but he fought nobodies since then.

who else after the top 5 is there that has done anything as impressive as KOing Pac and fighting someone as good as Bradley, even if Marquez lost.

but I agree that in the all-time ranks he will probably be really overrated by many people just because of KO6

    Aye, you're right, he's fu.cking pi.sh!!

Is this what ESB has become, just a bunch of tools claiming this great fighter or that great fighter is over-rated or bad?

Well although Rigo's win over Donaire is better than any win of Frochs and Klitschkos, I'd still have to say that Carl and Wlad hold better resumes than Rigo therefore i would add them to that list you mentioned. If your gunna class Bradley as an example of solid competition for JMM then i would add Kendall Holt and Lamont Peterson; not only as previous Bradley opponents that put more damage on Bradley than JMM but also as having a solid resume (If including losses, which you have)

    8-4/9-3 Bradley .

His movement and quickness was just too much and didn't allow Marquez to do much at all .

    Easy fight to score .

If you have to ask why JMM is rated so highly then you don't know **** about boxing and need to find a new sport to follow.:deal
