I have to admit, I was one of those that were glad to see him lose or at least a part of me. Due to his braindead comments in interviews pre-fight (like "I can beat Pacman/Diaz", "I've faced worldclass opponents like Gomez") and also because Warren and those with him were giving him too much hype.... and the final straw making a crappy non-title fight with a virtual unknown PPV.... But there must be other reasons for the guy to be hated on so much on ESB and many other forums, talk shows, radio phone in etc. The most surprising thing is that it seems to be coming from British people.... I can possibly understand the scots... After the Limond fight.... but why everyone else.... I know he had that car accident - which was another stupid thing.... but others have had done things just as bad if not worse... After hearing his post fight interviews (following day).... I've got a wee bit more respect for him now.... and would want to see his next fight.... Whether you hate himn or not.... I think his fights can be quite interesting and entertaining....sometimes due to his chin and his all-out attack - no defence (naive) approach. Why do you think a solid proportion of (British) people hate him? Why do you hate him?
The PPV issue was the sole reason I wanted him to lose as it would derail Khan's team and Frank Warren's plans of making money and ripping off the public. I don't dislike Khan.
I really dislike Khan for a number of reasons. He is a huge hype job, arragant and the Limond result plus the way the media treat him and his family.
I don't think everyone does hate him There's a lot who aren't mithered either way... I've kind of fallen into that category due to the matches he's been in since Limond and my disappointment with his progress. The promotional stuff/PPV I blame more on Warren. Warren can point to Khan's demands, but Warren could have said no to them.
I liked him at first, but his talk of winning a belt this year and all that bull**** made him look like a right ****.
Yeah... and his advisers (at least since Prescott) and Warren (for a while) have tried to cool this talk of fighting for world titles. Makes me think it can only have come from Amir.
I've never disliked the lad but was quite amused to see sparked out, purely because of the people around me telling me how good he is while blatantly ignoring my commenting on his vulnerability. Smug self vindication in the face of my ill informed friends I suppose. I also just enjoy watching brutal knock outs like everyone else.
