Why is Khan so Hated/Disliked by Brits?

So why did he just sell 10,000 tickets or whatever the capacity is with them all cheering him on? How has he made millions before even turning pro when nobody likes him and nobody woud be willing to him an opportunity, surely, because he's not liked.
