Khan's just so far ahead of Maidana. Maidana doesn't have the foot speed, balance, technique or skill set to catch Khan regularly. If it goes to the late rounds, maybe Khan tires and ends up more open. But most likely, he stops Maidana waaaaay before then.
Maidana is a bit of a slow starter...... with a shaky chin. Khan isn't a huge hitter by any means, but Maidana is bothered by speed big time..... even more so when the opponent won't be stood right in front of him. Plus Khan isn't able to help himself from having a bit of a dig early on, no matter what Roach says or does
You think Maidana has a shaky chin? is that based on the Ortiz fight, or has he shown vulnerability in other fights in your opinion? I agree about the speed, he is also wide open up the middle, seems to get disorganized when combination's are thrown at him, which might lead you to believe, that Khan can put him under a barrage, and force a stoppage.
Apparently he's been down several times before..... but mainly the Ortiz fight. Pretty much every half decent punch from Ortiz registered on Maidana, instead of bumrushing in all the time Ortiz should have set himself, Maidana would have been gone in the 2nd.... maybe the 1st. Ortiz isn't a huge hitter IMO either :think
Yeah? didn't know that. I dont know, Ortiz cracks pretty hard imo, Mike Arnaoutis takes a pretty good shot imo, and look how long it took Hatton to chip away at Maussa, Ortiz did him in 1 round, that said, I would agree that just lately he has not looked a puncher, maybe he not turning his punches over as much, looking to box more since losing to Maidana?
There is no way Khan is going to stop Maidana, there's going to be no Dave Parris waving the fight off. It's going to most likely be a 12 round wide UD for Khan.
Maidana has been dropped by a featherfisted Omar Leon I'm can see the fight being stopped when Maidana is dropped by Khan 3 times
Khan is the favourite because he has beaten the common opponent of the 2,Kotelnik. Khan is way to skillfull for Maidana and along with Gamboa he probably has the fastest hands in the sport. Khan will win wide on points.
Why wouldn't he? Khan is superior to Maidana in nearly every way. Maidana has a PUNCHERS CHANCE. Of course Khan would be favourite. Anyone who puts Maidana as a favourite is crazy.
I only know of him being down once before, against some journeyman - but like the Ortiz knockdown's, it didn't have him 'out', although the guy was a very light hitter based on his record. And Ortiz is a big hitter IMO :good
