If I was his opponent I would make him shave it like they would in Boxing. It is a farce he is allowed to have a beard like that.

Why? It doesn't make the slightest bit of difference.

Its his way of telling people he has a granite chin. There isnt an MMA rule against it - is there ? I am not sure.

Cushions every blow that lands, glancing blows wont do as much damage. generally protects the skin. Difficult to grip.

Hair won't cushion a blow that much if at all. I'll give you that it protects the skin and that it maybe means glancing blows don't hurt as much. Your last point really doesn't matter. Who grips someone by the chin and having a beard would make that easier anyway.

Doesnt make much of a diffrence at all. Its merely a distraction and an irritant for the opposing fighter. You crack him on the jaw beard or no beard dudes gona feel it.

Why have beards always been banned in boxing? Even f its only a small adv., it still shouldnt be allowed. Boxers have been forced to shave on fight night before.

Of course it gives him an advantage.

anyone saying it doesn't give an advantage doesn't know what they're talking about, any extra cushioning is an advantage. name a boxer with a beard like that fighting.

he keeps it because his opponents don't know the rules, or they've been 'convinced' to overlook it.

    gotta keep that image.

It'll be harder for him to get out of a good choke with that beard. :yep:

That beard cussions and reduces the blow, it simply would be illegal in boxing. Its like be allowed in there with a head gaurd.

Theres an interview somewhere, where he states it protects and looks after him.

It also makes it harder to track exactly where his chin is. Of course it's an advantage.
