Why is Klitschko so dedicated to the WBA title?

Here is what Bernd Boente said on the matter:

‘For Wladimir, it is absolutely most important that the WBA will sanction his next fight, regardless of his next opponent. Wladimir has always been a very loyal and committed WBA champion and the WBA has always been a very important belt. So, now we have to see what the WBA rules as the next step, and hopefully quickly because Wladimir wants to fight this year.’

So why is Klitschko more dedicated to that belt than the IBF, being that the IBF was the 1st belt he won back in 2006, the WBA title he didn't win until he beat David Haye back in 2011, and the IBF title was the only sanctioning body title he defended against Kurbat Pulev 2 years ago, so the loyalty argument doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

As much as the people who want to believe 'Joshua is a coddled hype job being protected by Eddie Hearn' crew have been chomping at the bit since this fight was first mentioned, hoping it falls apart so they can prove otherwise have been dying for this to fall apart to throw this at Hearn and Joshua's feet, even they must admit (they won't do it on here, but they will to themselves deep down) this is on Wlad.

I think a lot has to do with that if he doesn't get the WBA belt in his coming fight, he probably has no chance to ever win it back.
The Joshua fight will still be there, but just like in the past, it's very difficult to get hold of when some nobody gets his hands on it. The WBA HW circle jerk was one of the hardest to break in the past, and now with everyone somehow being "mandatory", you can imagine that it would be lost forever to Wlad if he doesn't fight for it now.
Remember that last time it took over 11 years (!!!!) for the WBA belt to come back to the #1 heavyweight in the division...

I don't think anyone is hoping the fight falls apart. But you are kidding yourself if you think Joshua is going to fight anyone with a pulse if this fight isn't made. I actually like Hearn he has a decent stable of fighters and has proven he is the man in the UK to be with right now. At this point it just seems Wlad is content to get s belt then come back and revisit the Joshua fight in the Spring or Summer. This is actually better for Joshua because he can pick between Klitschko or Parker in the Spring/Summer for a unification fight so it isn't only Wlad that benefits. I have no doubt if the WBA sanctioned the fight Joshua and Wlad would be fighting each other.

One boxing writer hinted that he thinks Wlad is angling to get the WBA belt so he can fight Wilder in the States for unification. Regardless both Wlad and Joshua will have options regardless if they fight or not.

Because the belt comes attached with a D - level door man who has no business anywhere near world level , thats why.

If the IBF was vacant and came with a bum , he'd be saying that belt was most important to him cos it was the belt which kick started his title reign.

His excuse not to fight Joshua was a dead give away. - I want two belts on the line

Yet he is happy to fight Browne for one paper belt:facepalm:

Hearn also wants 2 belts on the line. Who wouldn't? Fury is the one that caused this mess by ducking the rematch with Wlad.

    It's odd

I figure fight Joshua for the IBF and then get the WBC from Wilder. It's the only belt he never had

Name the Heavyweights who Joshua COULD fight 'with a pulse' who are willing to fight him and are ranked in the IBF top 15 (not coming off a loss) making them available fights for Joshua.

Joshua and Hearn are willing to fight for just the IBF. That's been confirmed by all sides.

Eric Molina is an unacceptable opponent. You have:

    1. Joseph Parker
    2. Kubrat Pulev
    3. David Haye
    4. Johan Duhaupas
    5. Andy Ruiz
    6. Carlos Takam
    7. Vyacheslav Glazkov
    8. Eric Molina
    9. Jarrell Miller
    10. Charles Martin
    11. Derek Chisora
    12. David Price
    13. Hughie Fury
    14. Bermane Stiverne
    15. Dominic Breazeale

What stands out about that list as far as easy fights to make. It isn't hard to see there are 3 viable options who are not complete walkovers.

Didn't Pulev pull out of possible Joshua fight saying he wasn't ready?

I don't see why Pulev wouldn't be ready for Joshua when he already fought Klitschko.... JS

Hearn said they couldn't come to terms on money. I think the wasn't ready was when Joshua fought Breazealle.
