He is listed as fighting Chilemba on monday July 11th..

Is that a misprint or are we having marquee fights on mondays now?

    WTF?

Some people go to work on mondays too.

Kova is just doing his thing, showing up for work, knocking out Chilemba. Just another day at the office

“We’re going old school,” said Duva, “back in the day, all the big boxing events took place on Monday.”

It would be great if boxing actually held more fights on the weeknights.

More people would probably watch. Most people go out on Saturdays or plan trips on the weekends. Most people are home or aren't out boozing it up on weeknights.

I'll never forget the Mike Weaver-John Tate, Larry Holmes-Leroy Jones, Sugar Ray Leonard-Dave "Boy" Green, Eddie Gregory-Marvin Johnson quadruple header was televised live on ABC in the U.S. on a weeknight (I just checked, it was on a Monday night) ... and everyone in school was talking about it the next day.

In the 1950s, when boxing exploded in the U.S. on television, it aired each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights. (Not the weekends.)

I hope it is on a Monday night. And I hope HBO shows it. They might be surprised how many people tune in.

could it be that they changed it in hopes of bringing in more world wide viewers? I mean there would be less people in uk to watch Floyd vs Hatton if it was on Monday!

because Kovalev pulled a Canelo: he is the A-side, and said either Monday or no fight
