Why is Kovalev-Ward considered a robbery when fights like Pac-JMM 2&3 and Hopkins-Calzaghe aren't?

I didn't think any of those fights were robberies myself. I personally had:

    Pac-JMM 1: 113-112 for Pac
    Pac-JMM 2: 114-113 for JMM
    Pac-JMM 3: 114-114 draw
    Hopkins-Calzaghe: 114-113 Hopkins
    Ward-Kovalev: 114-113 Ward

I think you're going about it the wrong way. When the vast majority of people score it for one fighter and seems to have the upper hand in the fight, and the other (certainly when the home fighter, with home judges and home referee) gets it instead, usually something fishy was going on. With B-Hop vs Calslappy the roles were completely reversed. B-Hop was the home fighter, with home judges and home referee and still didn't get the nod in a very close fight. See the (not so) subtle differences here?

Pac vs JMM 3 was a robbery and viewed as such by many fight fans. Why do you believe someone that views fights and sees the wrong guy win believes it's OK in one case and not in another?

Big fights have often got the wrong winner in my opinion, and people are just fed up with it.

Perez got robbed even worse against a home fighter that night but got snowed under by the injustice that happened in the next. It was impossible to be on the level and score that fight a draw, unlike Kovalev vs Ward what you could if you really wanted to score it for Ward

Question is, why don't you think it's normal the majority reacts this way under these circumstances?

Because 75 percent of the observers and media had Kovalev winning. The second Pac-JMM fight most had Pac winning.

Big difference in public perception, asswipe. They don't compare.

Close fights, could have went either way but Floyd won them all. Does that help?

Yeah. If Ward said right away that hey there's a rematch clause let's fight in March, he'd be giving the impression that there has to be a rematch because Kovalev should've won. Top fighters are control freaks, but it's also simply about confidence. He would look insecure if he publicly agreed to an immediate rematch. He also is already negotiating a better slice of the deal for a rematch by being coy about whether it happens. But I absolutely expect there to be an immediate rematch (even if we have to wait a coupple months longer than we should while they negotiate).

He's asking if they were both pretty close, why is there that huge difference in public perception? It comes down to bias for Pac and against Ward. Whether bias for and against their boxing styles, or more.

Hopkins-Calzaghe was a blatant robbery Slappy Joe didn't land 20 legal scoring punches in all 12 rounds
Plus he got put on his ass. Didn't want no part of a rematch, even at home in Wales, which his loyal fans were screaming for. He knew Nard was coming for him so he disappeared into a life of booze & drugs.
What a way to treat your fans ??

The reason why 75 percent of people had Kovalev winning the Ward fight was because most people thought he won.

This isn't that hard to understand.

The boxing community 80 percent of them had Kova winning, it really is a no brainer, all experts agree kova won, common sense.
