Why is Larry Holmes thought of so highly?

    Thanks Chris, i particularly enjoyed your own lengthy post. It was probably enough for me to leave the topic on, but i felt like getting my teeth into a bit of lengthy debate involving my own era.

    Larry Holmes had an excellent jab, high workrate, and solid chin.

    I think his personality hurt him...he deserves credit for dominating his class for so long however he fought during a weak era (not the weakest) in the heavyweight division

    I think its fair to make few criticisms concerning his opponent selection, but with all due respect, Its a rather wide stretch to question his validity as a true champion.
