Lewis is a bit overrated at present because he was the last great heavyweight. That said, he was a great heavyweight. Not many big guys could fight inside and out and also box. He was a well-rounded fighter by the end of his reign.
Bowe blows Lewis apart like he did in the Olympics, where technical skills are more important than power, as compared to the pros? What the **** are you smoking? Bowe couldn't throw a straight punch if his life depended on it. Lewis could box a boxer and beat the crap out of a puncher and has proven himself against a variety of elite fighters. Bowe's entire relevance as a fighter was one trilogy with a smaller, physically weaker man who did him the favor of going to war with him. Bowe has great infighting skills, that's it, he was not good at using his height, was oujabbed badly by Golota.
Bowe would have had his arse handed to him again, and he knows it thats why he didnt want to fight him. This is obviously a **** and were only feeding the fire.
One thing I have never understood is why Lewis got so much credit for beating guys he never should have lost to. Oliver McCall? Okay, he was young and he got cold. But losing to Rachman was ridiculous. Lewis was at the height of his power and Rachman was a journeyman. Why do people give Lennox so much credit for blowing out a fighter he never should have lost to? I mean, when you lose to Oleg Maskev twice, you're not a very good fighter. Rachman was B level at best.
1. Learn the definition of 'journeyman'. 2. Are you saying Lewis wasn't a good fighter then because he lost to Rahman. 3. He lost because by all accounts, he pissed about in training and spent half his time on the set of Ocean's Eleven, hence he came in unprepared and in poor shape and got caught. 4. He put things right in style in the rematch.
1. I invite you to take a look at Rachman's record before he beat Lewis. He hadn't beaten one top ten opponent and every time he stepped up he was brutally Ko'ed (Oleg, Tua). Fact is, if Rachman hadn't beaten Lewis, he'd be remembered as a journeyman- level fighter. 2. No, I'm saying that he shouldn't get so much credit for winning a match that he never should have lost. In fact, that's exactly what I said. I'd work on those reading comprehension skills if I were you. 3. And why did he take the fight lightly...hmmm? Because Rachman was a loser. He was a B-quality fighter and Lewis knew it. Again, why should he get credit for beating a guy he never should have lost to? 4. Supra.
you're a troll!! i consider lennox lewis to be the most naturally gifted heavyweight in history. poor man's buster douglas?!?! sad.. just sad.:-(
