actually, that was all Oscar. Floyd had no drawing power before fighting Oscar. Same with Pac. The only difference is that people thought Pac had no chance against Oscar because he was 3 divisions smaller.

Floyd was an afterthought when he retired.

Oh I agree to an extent. ODLH was the PPV GOAT. Still, FMJ was becoming a household name after the Gatti fight.

Now you are just being silly. Mayweather was talked about more than many fighters in the top 5 of their divisions.

Why do Pac fans say outlandish stuff just to say it?

dude, you just said "Without Mayweather Pac is a NOBODY.",

and then you claim I'm saying outlandish stuff when I say Mayweather was an afterthought WHEN HE WAS RETIRED.

    think a little.

He isn't. He is the latest "hero" put in to beat the "villian". This made him cross over.

How was Mayweather an "afterthought"? Everyone was asking when not if he was coming back. When he did come back, his "tune up" did more than Manny's fights at the height of his so-called fame.

    Yes. You should.

No, it was both fighters that made this fight big, not just Dlh. Dlh never came close to doing those kinds of numbers that Dlh-Floyd did. Second, true boxing fans knew PAc would beat/stop Dlh. Third, Floyd was never an after thought when he retired. Fans anticipated a return...

Even if you thought Dlh was the draw over Floyd, Dlh-Tito did 1.4, and Floyd-Dlh did 2.4...a mil more than that fight. Dlj fought Hopkins and did a mil ppv buys, he did 900,000 with Mayorga, and jumped to 2.4 with Floyd. Don't tell me Dlh was solely responsible for Floyd-Dlh's ppv success because Floyd's ppv numbers didn't compare to Dlh's at the time. Hearns brought much to the table when people saw him knocking people out on national televison, and Sugar was the ppv star fighting Duran twice...
