But the smaller one (JMM) is challenging the bigger (a little bigger) PAC by himself
... you are talking about totally otherwise that the bigger (Martinez) wants
the smaller (PAC) to challenge his titles at 160lb so he can take the advantage himself.

I agree with some guy before, if you compare Martinez to Margo, and they both
been fighting at WW before then why you have problem with Martinez to get down
    to 151lb as Margo did?
In reality it would be easy for Martinez to blow up to 160lb at the fight night.

If I recall....they said Shane was too dangerous before PAC beat Cotto. I don't think anyone REALLY knew if PAC could hold his own against a thorough WW like Miguel...let alone Shane, who at the time beat the snot out of Margo. ****....They said Marg was too big for PAC back in the day as well...along with a list of other welter weight names that PAc has burnt through..

At 154....I think they tested the waters a bit with Marg who did well, but PAC was just better. Maybe they saw something that made them shy away from staying at 154. At this point PAC is a solid WW but he's truly a Jr WW. Due to his talent and abilities he can compete with bigger guys but the risk is always present.

Fighting Sergio at 154 is possible and PAC could win, but chances are the style of sergio and his size would probably end up seeing him as the winner.

I'd love to see the fight myself, but not sure if Bob would be willing to risk it.

 you almost sound like you actually believe that garbage about Pac never fighting skilled fighters in their prime.

So you actually believe that if Martinez was a 147 fighter and not the 160 fighter he is now, that Pac would duck Martinez?

I mean, sure... fighting Martinez at 154 would be a huge huge legacy win for Pac should he win it but can you really fault them for not wanting this fight? The issue here isn't that Martinez is too big or that Martinez is too good, it's that Martinez is too big AND too good.

It's really simple, if 2 fighters were equally skilled in all aspects but 1 fighter is bigger, the bigger fighter would win. If he was 2 weight divisions bigger, then he would absolutely beat the **** out of the smaller guy. The only way the smaller guy can win is he has enough skill to offset the size disadvantage. But if you're the #1 P4P fighter in the world and they want you to fight the #2 P4P fighter in the world who also happens to be the lineal champ in a weight 2 divisions higher than yours, not only do you have to have a huge skill advantage, you also have to have a huge skill advantage over someone who's incredibly skilled in his own right.

Seriously, you have a fighter who fought Barrera, Marquez and Morales in a span of less than 2 years, a fighter who never fights in a safety first style despite being outweighed by his last 5 opponents and you're criticizing him for not fighting a guy whose last 4 fights are at middleweight where he also happens to show that he has 1 punch KO power.

And people think he needs to fight a guy who will be around 170 fight night. Amazing.

Why doesn't Manny call out Paul Williams at 150, he'll make 150 easily and gladly, this is an established fighter, an exciting fighter, and a fighter who has earned his opporunity. Instead he's fighting Tony, SSM, JMM...cool story breh. If the concession is that Martinez is too big and too good, fight Williams...

Again, you're entire argument is flawed because you base it on the premise Margarito and Martinez are the same size. They aren't Freddy.

Didnt Martinez recently say he wanted to move back down to Jr Middle? I mean who cares what a fighter weighs on fight night we cant even argue that those posted weights are legit.

This is why they call them un official weights, there is a reason for that, the scale they use is usally the one in the dressing room, which may not be correctly calibrated and likely is not the scale that the commissions require during the weigh in

Another thing to point out, when they put up the un official weights, they do not say weather it was with or with out clothes on... so 170 could in reality be 165 or less on the night of the fight... depending on how that fighter was weighed in.

But at the end of the day what a fighter weighs on fight night means nothing, if he can make the weight he can take the fight...

Sergio isn't in his prime either.. Physically he's past his prime...but overall the man is at his best. It's unfair to take jabs at PAC has been fighting top level comp, like Sergio has.

PAC is subjected to far more critisim like Floyd is. Simply b/c they are considered the best in the sport right now. To say Manny doesn't want to fight skilled fighters in their primes is disrespectful to guys like Cotto, MAB, EM or JMM.

PAC certainly beat all those guys in their primes and in the process, accelerated their retirement dates. Even Josh and Ricky could be considered "PRIME" fighters. Shane...DLH.....not so much. They were obviously still capbale fighters who could still compete at the top level but clearly not at their bests.

I'd like to see PW and PAC go at it....He's a problem for anyone with his workrate and size, but the fight has to make sense. The risk is high but Paul's stock is NOT! He's coiming of a brutal loss at the hands of Sergio.

You see all the critisim PAC gets for fighting guys who have lost....imagine PAC beating Paul and the next words out of PAC haters mouths will be "SEE...PAC agreed to fight Paul b/c he was a shot fighter coming off a loss to Sergio".

He might as well just take Sergio on at 150 if he were to try for Paul...at least Sergio's Stock is HIGH!

I think Sergio vs JCC Jr is a good fight! People SLEEP on Jr but he's looking more and more like he's cut from the same cloth as JCC Sr.

    "hahaha"?:huh

EVERYBODY was making a fuzz about Margarito's weight advantage AFTER the fight night weights were announced and BEFORE the fight took place and Manny schooled plaster boy.
Actually DURING the fight, the announcers kept on saying that they can't believe the weight advantage wasn't as apparent as it should be and that Pac is at a serious disadvantage.

    You know why?

Because people with common sense know why "weight divisions" exist in boxing.

Your stupidity is like a strong case of body odor.
You don't smell it but everyone else around you knows you stink.
