If he can make 154 in a healty manner then I'm inclined to agree with you Freddy! But lets be realistic here...Even if he were to make the weight, I still doubt he would fight Martinez given that he's a high risk, low reward type of fighter and Martinez doesnt really have that much to lose to the likes of Pacman at this stage.

This is the truth of it: Oscar was a bigger guy than Floyd, a much bigger guy than Pac. Remember how when he had his fights at middleweight he looked completely ineffective? punches bounced off sturm and hopkins. He didn't belong at 160 at all, but for whatever reason tito did.

oscar's effective weights: 135-154.

titos effective weights: 140-160.

hopkins effective weights: 160-175

Pacs effective weigths: very low (lets say 122)-147. because of power and speed

He can't keep fighting these guys without losing effectiveness. Oscar would probably fail against Martinez in his prime, just too effective and prime at middle.

Now lets think about sergios weights: 147-? (prime 160)

Hearns: 147-175 because of power.

these weight ranges of effectiveness are very very valid, and pac is at his limit, he is much naturally smaller than all these other famous welters.
