If Martinez were the same size as Pac, he would have been fighting at 147 where the money is.

There is a reason why he opt to stay at 160.

Dude Pac found out the hard way against margarito( almost getting KO'ed by a body shot ) that he doesn't belong anywhere above 150. Martinez can't even make 150 so cut the **** about him and margarito being the same size. And yes Martinez is too good and BIG for Pac. it's not a fair fight.

I know its been pointed out every other post but its true.

    Tyson

    5'10''

    71'' Reach

Height and reach are only part of the equation when it comes to size.

The very fact that Marg weighed in at... what... 150? against Pac, and could still fight at 147 if he wanted to, and theres no way in hell Martinez could ever make 147 again, goes to show the difference in size at this stage between Margarito and Martinez.

And while that size might not mean a whole lot in a fight between Margarito and Martinez, it would against Pac. That added size (along with everything else Martinez brings to the ring) and the higher quality of fighter at this stage, and obviously seeing that Pac is near his limit in size with a guy like Margarito, all point to the notion that Martinez is a pointless move.

Also, Pac had problems with Shanes length and height. He didnt with Margarito, because Margarito is right there to be hit with practically everything.

Martinez would use that length, use that distance, and it would show.

agreed except for that bold part

both manny and lil floyd take serg out

it'll b easy for lil floyd and look like david diaz again for manny

as for the too big part, if homie wants to drop to 150 i say let them fight

Pac is a world class champion and fighting for his spot among the top atgs, now if an opponent can make the weight division why not fight him? Other wise what's the ****en point? Why not just say we fight fighters based on boxing ability.... Why fight martinrz at 147 but not at all at 154 because he will dehydrate to 170? But if he s able to come in as a zombie at 147 ITS ON BABY!!????

sergio is ****ing HUGE and POWERFUL at this point....and hes FAST
pac entering welterweight is his 10th division and has had 4 fights...martinez is a natural 147 with his first 25 fights at that weight

Pac aint a video game character...hes about expanded his weight classes...i would still probably pick him over a weak 160 pound belt holder should say chavez jr win the wbc strap....but not sergio...did you see the paul williams fight? what he did pav? aint no way man.... thats one fight you wont see

I can't believe that when referring to size you talk about height and reach :patsch

    WTF is wrong with you?

Because even at 150, team Pac realized Pac got hurt by Marg, that's why they immediately dropped the 154 belt. This was even before Sergio got into the limelight by kayoing Paul.

both. once you start fighting bigger fighters, the only way you can win is if your skill advantage make up for size disadvantage. the bigger your opponent gets, the bigger the skill deficit has to be in order for you to win.

It's pretty simple and I don't see how admitting that is a disservice to Pac. It's not a question of Pac being a great fighter, but a question of whether or not Pac is a great enough fighter to beat a man who could very well be 20 lbs heavier and almost as skilled as him. Every fighter has his limits no matter how good he is.

It's not just his size, dude can move too, and lightning quick.
I wouldn't take that fight if I were Pac.
