You don't need to agree and nobody cares if you would let them fight or not, if you really think that Floyd and Pac could take Martinez out, then why are you still b1tching around about the weight?

If Martinez can reach 147, or if he tries to negotiate at 150, then there is definitely a need to discuss this.

But last time I checked, Martinez would kill himself to make 147 or even 150. He said that he won't go lower than 154.

Bottomline is, if he Martinez wants Pacquiao, he goes back to Welterweight and challenge him. Or he can even negotiate for a 150 fight like with Margo. Obviously not a good idea either way.

So I really don't see any reason to discuss a Pacquiao-Martinez fight. Except of course if you want a Welterweight Pacquaio to fight a Middleweight Martinez, which would make you a plain hater.:smoke

I've heard a lot of people say that Martinez was only willing to go down to 154 and not any lower.

If Martinez can drop to 150, then it's not so unreasonable. But still giving that Pac had a hell of a time with Marg at some points at 150, taking on the middleweight king in his prime would be a bit more than he can chew.

freddy, i think what they are doing to JMM is WRONG. offering him pac, ortiz, or Canelo. He can beat plenty of 135 pounders. He is a world class fighter. Pac has had flukish success at welter, he shouldn't be having it. JMM may do OK against Pac, but i think without making weight pac is much, much, much stronger. JMM should never be in the same ring with big guys like Ortiz or Canelo, they are screwing him. And pac should never be in the ring with big guys like Margarito or Martinez, honestly. the expectations are just unreasonable.

when camacho and duran moved up, their bodies matured even though they were short. Camacho would dwarf pac at 147 in terms of frame size even though they are close in height. I don't see the same natural maturation in pac, he's small framed and eating a ton to keep that weight in shape. He is actually really fighting bigger guys, and to some degree Floyd was when he first moved up to 147, too. Its not right to expect pac to beat the middleweight champion.

i understand, but if he's smashing on guys like margo, and shane.....then why not move on to bigger and better things if you're gonna stay in the sport ??? why finally give marquez his trilogy, but at a weight that makes zero sense, where pac will have to make 0 sacrifices.........punk **** that pisses me off

because one shot when a guy is 20 lbs heavier can end a career. gatti ended gamache's career with a 20 lb weight advantage in like 2 rounds, and gamache had MORE SKILL than gatti, he just wasn't as strong. And supposedly gatti made 140, but there were questions about that. gamache has had long term brain damage and effects from that short beating.

Gamache started his career at 144, and had a record of 55-4, he was no chump. that was his starting weight class. pac is much smaller than gamache.

Gamache was WINNING rounds against JCC, man. Something Camacho didn't do. Of course, Gamache couldn't survive, but he wasn't a chump as you have labeled him. he's no manny, but why throw manny at bigger and bigger weight class champions until he fails? Someday he will. Why not skip martinez and go for Ward or Direll or Tarver? He has reached his size limit.
