Although I am a big Margarito fan, I do agree with you that he shouldn't be a P4P'er. He is the Top Dog of the WW's, but at the moment that is all.

Having said that, even you are saying "If PBF were to box him like Corrales (RIP), he'd win a huge UD all day long." For one, we know that "if" went nowhere because PBF refused to fight him. Second, Corrales had a lot of issues before that fight (although that is a different story.) Margarito is a bigger, stronger version of Castillo although not as refined, and if you remember correctly, a lot of boxing folks had Castillo winning against PBF.

I'm not saying Margarito would have won, but I would have bet that he would have given PBF a much bigger test than Judah, Baldo, Gatti, or DLH. Do you agree or disagree?

Williams ran? If Williams ran what did Cotto do? People don't like Margarito more so because of morons like you rather than him, but when he cried about the decision it didn't help!

    Dont thinks so.
Margo started late and was coming on strong.
    He underestimated Williams.
    Next time he wont.

I was nodding my head until you got to the part that Paul Williams is overrated, ***** please Paul Williams beat Margo in a do or die fight for him, he also deserves as much credit as you are giving Margo.

I think you believe Margarito is overrated because he doesn't have all the same boxing skills like some fighters but he does have other attributes that make up for it so overrated isn't really accurate. Some of his fans overrated him yes, Margarito fans still can't give Williams or anyone else credit making all kinds of excuses but that's not Margarito's fault, except him whining that he beat Williams which only the biggest Margo nut-huggers believe. He has a great chin, stamina, relentless pressure, decent power and he does throw punches from a lot of angles. I would say he just has different skills than more naturally gifted fighters. I don't care for he guy all that much but I can see the reality here even if it is continually clouded by a contingent of delusional fans.

What does what Cotto did have to do with Williams exactly? Nothing is the answer.

There aren't even many Margarito fanatic here to make your statement true. He's still more underrated then overrated.

And it was a close win for Williams. Is Margarito thinking he won supposed to be a bad thing?:huh

Margarito's a damn good champ. He's rated highly because in his division he comes out on top when pictured against opposition. He beat the #1 ranked (in the public's eyes not Ring magazine's eyes) welterweight Cotto, beat Cintron twice, was beat but not dominated by Williams who beat Quintana who was a previous champ, beat Clottey (let's put controversy aside for this one), and so he sits on the throne at the moment. Not a unified throne but you get the picture. Sure he can be beat and has been beat but he's a champion who gives great entertainment. That's not being overrated. Sure, things might change if he goes up to 154 but for the moment he stands tall over his division (no pun intended.)

Maybe a better question would be why do people overate themselves as judges of boxing talent
