True. Coz he knows that pac's name sells better than his.

So you guys are saying you wouldn't make juan manuel number one if he somehow beats floyd.really?

If he beats mayweather he takes numero uno in my opinion. In fact, pac will not regain number one again until he beats the victor.

(;) you can clearly see I have an issue with the pac hype right now )

It depends on how he beats floyd... I actually had JMM as no.1 when he KOed diaz. If he wins in a close decision he's probably still be no.2 due to the fact that pac has a win over him. debatable? yes...

They will then fight for a 3rd time to settle the score!

I refuse to keep pac at numero uno because of the fact he got the decision that night....I like many others scored the fight for marquez, on each of the three times I watched it....I don't care what the 3 judges thought that night, that does not influence who I think is number one..

Even ignoring that fact; if he beats floyd

    JMM

    - Juan Diaz KO
    - Joel Casamayor KO
    -floyd mayweather

    MP

    - David Diaz KO
    -ODLH KO
    - Hatton KO

To me its not rocket science, although pacs wins are good, they would not match juans if he were to beat floyd, and that swings the favor to him...

By the way I don't think he will beat floyd. And yes he and pac do need a rubber match either way, so its all relative.

If Marquez loses, he can say he lost to the best pound for pound, and to a naturally bigger man to boot. If Marquez wins, he'll look like Superman. It's smart. Mayweather is the guy who ignorantly diminishes his opponents, only to diminish his own achievments when he wins.

Reason 5 mainly. Maybe a bit of reason 3 added to the mix.

While most of the boxing world views
    This content is protected
as the best boxer in the world, Juan Manuel Marquez is not one of them. Marquez considers Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the best fighter in boxing. He faces Mayweather on July 18 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Marquez is convinced that he beat Pacquiao in 2004, when they fought to a draw, and in 2008, when Pacquiao won a close split-decision.

“In my opinion Floyd is No.1,” Marquez was quoted as saying by Yahoo Sports . “He is still unbeaten and still No.1. Pacquiao has never truly beaten me, I feel that in my heart. I want to fight the best and that is why I wanted to fight Floyd.”
