This is it, he wants another Pacquiao fight (where he wins and the judges don't screw him) and then he wants to retire and while he waits he squeezes in the odd tune up but doesn't want a tough fight (that even a shot blown up Morales would provide) so he's keeping himself fresh and focused for the day he gets the call from the bobfather that he's been chosen again.

Khan was in a different division when Marquez got offered that fight, Rios isn't good enough to be ducked, and Top Rank wasn't willing to pay Judah enough money to make that fight happen.

The problem with JMM is that, he clearly know he can fight very competitively (PBF/Pac fight) in LWW to WW. Why cant he fight big names in those division rather than fighting bums? I love JMM fighting Diaz, Casa, Katsidis in LWW. But His legacy would further be solidified by beating those top guys even in LWW.

Marquez would still beat Morales. All he needs to do is beat the #1 in LWW and WW and he will be one of the greatest Mexican fighter that I'll ever see in my ESB prime.

    Marquez isnt ducking Morales.

But i would rather see him fight Morales.

    Than being inactive.

Well given the fact it would probably be easy money for jmm at this stage it does'nt really make sense why he isnt interested in the fight. it would certainly be better for him than not fighting at all which is what he's doing now

Morales was supposed to have fought Marquez right before he instead fought Maidana.

Two reasons why the fight never took place.

    1. Marquez himself voiced this. Morales never granted him a match when he (Morales) was on top.
Marquez went on to point out, "now I'm in the position he was in back then, so if he wants to fight me, he's going to take the money thats given to him." Which was basically what Bob Arum offers were always like to Marquez when making Marquez any offer for fights back in the day.

    2. The second reason why Marquez passed on Morales and Morales then went to take on Maidana instead is that GBP's contract with Marquez was about to expire and with the money Marquez was asking for, for the Morales fight, GBP waneted further options on Marquez, which Marquez outright refused, knowing that if he prolonged his contract with GBP, a third Pacquiao fight would never happen.

So there you go. Had Marquez agreed to the terms of GBP to fight Morales, the boxing world would never have witnessed Marquez propinating Pacquiao a third boxing lesson!:deal

Turns out Marquez made the correct decision in that he got an opportunity to once again beat an elite Pacquiao, instead of obliterating a fighter who most see as just a shell.

That the fight has'nt happened since is mainly that Morales has lost he biggest tests to date in his comeback.

More like Judah priced himself out.

    Dont twist facts around.
