Why is Matthew Hatton even being considered to face Floyd?

His brother is obviously better then he is and we all ready saw what happen to him against top competition.

Why exactly is this guy getting a shot at Floyd?

Void does not mind taking a blood test because it does not work well on chicken blood!

Would this fight even sell?? im sure M. hatton will have a huge brittish fan base but who would take this as a serious fight?

I would be surprised if this guy even lasts more then 1 round

This is one disgusting fact that Floydettes tend to overlook.

Had Floyd went after a comebacking Margo or Clottey, there would be more sentiment that he intends to fight the best guys around.

    But Hatton, hah!

I would not be too confident about his fanbase, I think a lot of people resent him a little for always getting a nice place on his brother Rickys cards which on talent and form alone he often didnt quite deserve. I dont think it sells big in Britain, I doubt it would do half whatever Ricky Hatton-Mayweather did.

Anyways, I am still not sure its not just some big joke, really. I always question when people call Floyd a ducker, sure he tries to take the path of least resistance and I would love to see him test his immense talent against the guys he should be fighting. However, if he walks away from this fight into one with Matt Hatton and it is anything other than a delaying tactic to hype the fight for Aug or Sept (not a total impossibility, though it seems a bit unnecessary) his credibility will be totally shot to me.

Its Apollo Creed in Rocky, except he isnt calling out Balboa, he's calling out Paulie! M Hatton is not even a B level fighter he cant even call himself best in Britain. Unless this is just internet gossip, I have no idea what is going on :-(

He doesn't have any fanbase. His last fight was in a sports hall in Stoke with a capacity of 1300, and that was the biggest fight of his career.

I'm sure it can do a decnt live crowd on the basis of boxing fans willing to come out to see a legend in the flesh at somewhere like the MEN Arena. Don't see how it makes any tv money worth speaking of on either side of the Atlantic however.
