Why is Maxboxing & others trying to make Cotto out to be a monster PBF will avoid?

Miguel Cotto is a very good young fighter and has a bright future in the sport. He just beat a living legend in Shane Mosley, albeit past his prime and I give him credit for this but he gets no more credit than Mayweather for beating ODLH who is younger than Mosley. Also Cotto got alot of credit for beating Judah and Mayweather recieved none at all, even though he got to him before Cotto did.

In all truth Cotto and Arum will be doing the avoiding if anything, just like they avoided Hatton and Mayweather at 140, by raking up meaningless WBOgus defenses. This time it will be the WBA strap. Mayweather has fought more accomplished fighters than Cotto and better fighters as well so what would make these so-called "experts" think this about Mayweather who has beat 11 world champions and 4 hall of famers.

Styles makes fights and Mayweather is a stylistic nightmare for Cotto. Cotto is good and not great, which is a very overstated word in the world of boxing.

 

Its called reverse phycology. Its almost like daring PBF. I know PBF will win but after watching Cotto in his last fight, it showed me PBF will have his hands full in that fight.

Im not so sure. It would be competitive until the middle rounds. The thing that Always seperated Mayweather and Mosley was that Mayweather is technically superior with as much natural talent and athletecism. Mosley has no jab, and when he does throw it he paws with it or slaps with it, also mosley rarely throws straight right hands he often loops it, and in his prime he had the speed to lose a lil technique to land. Mayweather throws shorter, crisper punches than Mosley. They may not be as hard or thudding but all his punches are sharp. As the fight progresses Mayweather will seperate himself with his jab, straighter punches, and ring generalship.

Maxboxing has been on the anti-Mayweather bandwagon for awhile.

Hopefully Mayweather-Cotto can be made but HBO will probably have to really push for the fight and there has to be a lot of money in the pot to get Arum and Floyd to work together.

Despite being older than the DLH that fought Floyd, Mosely is the more active fighter and the better fighter at this point of his career. That cant be disputed.

 

And Mosley beat DLH twice to boot. :yep

 

so what if Mosely is older? he beat DLH twice.Mosely might have been the guy to really trouble Floyd, style wise.Cotto deserves his shot at Floyd.

 

I think Mosely would have gave PBF just as hard as a time as he did Cotto. But the thing is Cotto had the balls to answer that question and Floyd wouldnt.

 

I dont believe they are trying to say mayweather is avoiding him, after his fight with hatton if he comes out victorious, then he should fight cotto next, who else should he fight... their is plenty of other welterweights but cotto right now is in a streak, him defeating cotto will just give him a better stamp in his career, were a cotto fight would have no excuses for anyone... a guy in his prime whos undefeated and very hungry...
