It's not all Mayweather's fault for it not happening. Sorry mate. I know with Mosely in your avatar it might be hard to agree to that, but it's the plain and simple truth. Mayweather-Mosely didn't happen because of Mayweather AND Mosely. And some would argue moreso because of Mosely, but let's leave that for another thread (and you can argue that with another poster)

Every heard the saying... Takes two to tango?

The combination of Hatton's rising status and increasing U.S. popularity is what makes this good for boxing. There has never been as much attention on Mayweather OR Hatton since their last fights. In other words, their fame is at an all-time high right now.

To top it off, Hatton's pressure, even if he's unsuccessful, appeals to a lot of fans (even though he frustrates me to watch).

Look, I know you like Mosley, and it would be great if a Mayweather-Mosley fight goes down, but when you respond to the idea of the exposure, the potential excitement, and the legitimacy of a Hatton-Mayweather fight with "what a joke," you've allowed your passion for one fighter to cloud your judgment.

Glad to see you're not completely delusional about Mayweather-Hatton.

    Go Gators. :good

Its just hating on mayweather, I dont like the guy but hatton is 43-0 with beating some good fighters (2 of which are great fighters), any half a brain boxing fan would know hatton will be a tough fight.

When Mayweather fought Judah, people were saying he's ducking Margarito and was taking on a guy who would be a name, but an easy victory

When Mayweather fought De La Hoya, people said he was fighting a part-time fighter and a business man

When Mayweather retired, people were saying he was avoiding real challenges like Hatton, Cotto, Mosley, Williams, and Margarito

If Mayweather fought Mosley, people would say he's ducking Hatton, Cotto, and Williams

If Mayweather fought Cotto, people would say he's ducking Mosley, Hatton, and Williams

If Mayweather fought Williams, people would say he's ducking Hatton, Mosley, and Cotto

Now that Mayweather is fighting Hatton, people are saying he's ducking Cotto, Mosley, and Williams

There are always going to be people saying this kind of stuff, but the bottom line is that Floyd was a part of one of the most anticipated fights in recent vintage and is now ready to participate in a huge matchup between 2 undefeated fighters in their/or around their primes.

yeah and the last guy he beat he koed in the 4th round with a body shot and i remember when pbf fought that same guy for the 1st time and i was thinking damn pbf just loss the fight.

so hatton destroys a guy that gave pbf his hardest fight to date.both guys should be commended for fighting each other i think.

Oh man what a bull**** article!! Hatton BELONGS to the best available opposition!! hatton may be a naturally 140 and not suited for 147, but mayweather is also a naturally 140, maybe even smaller than Hatton!! Why should Mayweather fight Paul Williams whos a naturall middleweight and comes in at 162 pounds?? that would be insane!! The writer off this article doesnt know what hes talking about!! Cotto is fighting Mosley, maybe Mayweather will fight the winner of this after he beats Hatton!! But i cant stand the autor, mayweather is fighting the highly regarded unbeaten champion rick hatton and he sais hes avoiding the best competition!! Hatton is the best at 140, 2 divisions higher than Floyd was starting at and earning his first champion title!!

Why not Williams?? He really impressed me against Margo. my list would be like this:

    1. Cotto
    2. Williams
    3. Mosley
    4. Hatton
    5. Oscar
    6. Margo

But in the end mayweather would be favourite against all of them but it would be verry dangerous against some of them!

PBF fanatics (PBF fans is a different story) will tell you that Williams does not deserve a shot. They will tell you that he has done nothing to get a shot at PBF. Meanwhile you and I and many other people think that this could/will be a great fight.

Hatton is strong, because if u watch mosley vs collazo it seemed collazo was stronger than mosley and if u watch hatton vs collazo, ricky was bullying collazo,so hatton is stronger than u think.Mosley can fight and that's what seperates him from floyd,we will see floyd for the first time getting hit everywhere on his body, because wont care where he hit's floyd.Hatton bullied collazo against the ropes all night, collazo had his moment's,but hatton took him out his comfort zone and made collazo complain all night.

I see the same kinda fight with floyd complaining to the ref and hatton taking him out his comfort zone and making floyd fight, floyd will outclass hatton in the center of the ring, but how can mayweather stay in the center of the ring all night.

sorry dude but you need to STFU !!! shane honestly admitted that floyd had been calling him out since the days of 130 and 135 and shane had turned him down even at 147.. so now that Floyd is the man, he's making Shane wait, just like shane made floyd wait.
I like shane but his decision not to fight floyd when he was in prime and at the top of his game has come back to bite him in the ass big time .
Fact : shane has no one to blame but himself.

That still wouldn't satisfy the haters. They will say "Why didn't he choose fight Cotto along with the other two on the same night".
