This isn't even true. Ali was the most hated athlete during his time.

What the hell? You had a point until the end. Was Floyd not suppose to fight Mosley? I'm pretty sure we all know that Mosley was ranked very highly before they fought. Was Floyd not suppose to fight Hoya? Floyd moved up to fight him. Hoya was ranked 2 or 3 in the division. Also it was his chance to become a ppv star. I have no issues with those two fights. I would say those are good but not great wins.

It doesn't matter if Hatton isn't a atg. Hatton was relevant when they fought each other. The fight should have happened at 140 but Hatton didn't want the fight.

Floyd's legacy isn't complete yet. He still has work to do. Floyd has achieved great things in the sport. The man has been boxing for 16 years. Floyd has fought in 20 world title fights. So nearly half of his fights have been title fights. He has beaten 16 (Soon to be 17) world champs. The only person to beat more in his era is Oscar. Floyd is a three time lineal champ in 5 weight classes. The only fighter who has more is Manny. He was on the P4P list for damn near the whole decade. The only year he wasn't was in 08 (He didn't fight in 08). Floyd has achieved many things in 16 years.

Floyd isn't a Pryor at all. Pryor has basically one name on his resume. Manny will never be greater than Armstrong. That is not true at all. Armstrong is the second greatest boxer of all time IMO. How can Manny be greater than Armstrong when he was never undisputed champion anyway? That is damn near an insult to Armstrong.

Floyd's opponents are gone, and he's not going to wait around until there's another superstar in the WW division. Who knows if there'll even be one in the next five or ten years? He's missed his opportunity. Also, why bother even posting about Mosley or ODLH? Are you going to pretend like you don't know they were looooong past their prime? Everyone knows it. You know it. It's not like you denying it is going to make anyone forget that fact, so why bother? Nothing else you said matters or is even in disagreement with anything I said. Hatton achieved a lot in boxing, so did Gatti. Lots of guys have achieved a lot and made a lot of money. That doesn't mean they're ATG status. There's a difference between 'achieving a lot' and being an ATG.

He doesn't have to wait until there is another superstar. I never said they weren't past their prime. I said that they were relevant fighters and Floyd should have fought them. It depends on what the achievements are. If a boxer was great for 16 plus years then how is he not an atg? ATG rankings are based on achievements and resume. Longevity can be included as well. Since you mention that Hatton isn't an atg (which he isn't), who could Floyd have fought that is considered an atg? One is Manny (That fight can still happen but it's not likely). It damn sure wasn't Marg, Cotto, or Paul Williams. Nothing I said matters? You said that Floyd has no legacy and he is another Pryor. You said Manny will be greater than Armstrong not me. Both of those statements are not true at all.

That's your problem right there. He damn sure should have fought Cotto, Margo, Clottey, Paul Williams, and especially Pac. You can throw in KT, ODLH and Mosley too. You can point out little problems in the logistics of ANY fight, but great fighters who want to prove they're great make those fights happen. Post LW Floyd's specialty was finding reasons he couldn't fight the best guys out there, and when he couldn't find a good reason, he retired and let them destroy each other. Put three or four of those guys in their prime on Floyd's resume and you might have an ATG case. As it stands now... no. Just no. There's no point in arguing with me about it either. I already know how you feel, and you already know how I feel and you know how the rest of the boxing world feels, which is just like I do. Bitching about it on a forum isn't going to change that.

I never said he shouldn't have fought these fighters. I said Cotto, Marg, and Williams weren't atg fighters. Most of those people aren't even hall of fame fighters. I agree with every fighter you names except for Clottey. Hey I respect your opinion even though I disagree with it  Floyd's achievements (not resume) are to good to leave out. It's not like he resume is garbage either. If someone can name me a fighter that has done just as much as Floyd that isn't an atg, then I will consider saying he isn't one. Pryor didn't accomplish what Floyd did. Until then, I will say he is an atg.

Cotto will be HOF (and could probably be considered ATG at 140 in the time before he outgrew the division), Margo prob would have been, and Clottey is just as good as either of those guys, he's just not as famous. Williams was seen as the most dangerous of the whole bunch. In any case, AT THE TIME that Floyd should have fought them they were considered monsters and they WERE monsters, they've all declined since then mostly by damaging each other or (Margo) being exposed as cheaters. Which is why fighting them now doesn't make up for not fighting them then. They would all have been HUGE megafights and removed any talk about Floyd and his heart problems.

It depends on how Cotto finishes his career imo. His best win is probably Shane Mosley. I don't think Marg would have been an atg. Clottey folds when the lights get to bright. I understand he broke his hand against Marg. That still doesn't mean you stop throwing and lose the fight. Clottey wasn't throwing at all. I thought Clottey won the Cotto fight. He didn't help his case when he didn't finish strong in that fight. I don't know what the hell was wrong with Clottey in the Manny fight. It looked like a replay of the Marg fight. Back in 07, I thought Williams was the only fighter that had a chance to beat Floyd. No one wanted to **** with Williams at welter. Do you think politics were a reason why some of these fights didn't happen? Politics plays a big part in boxing.

There are always politics. There were politics around fighters like Ali, JCC, SRL and Duran etc. They didn't let it stop them.

Re Clottey, you're right. He specializes in getting right up close to the mountain top, then stalling at the edge. No idea why. The man is terrified of real success lol... in the Manny fight I think he felt the power, he knew he could be hurt and the punches (from his viewpoint) were just neverending. He probably thought he could cover up, be patient and catch the little guy with one monster shot and change the fight. Didn't work out that way.
