So much anger here in Ali. He never really did realise that anger isn't the right emotion to use if you want people to accept you. It manifests itself and although can give you strength , will never make you a whole and balanced human being. His comments about friendship were awesome, correct and inspirational though.

Well, So far he has accomplished about 25% of what Ali accomplished. That's a compliment. Ali was hated by more than loved him in the US.

Well, besides Ali's in-ring accomplishments, alot of what he is idolized/hated for is in part, his views on politics/real-world events and situations at the time and how outspoken he was on them, whether it be his views on the Vietnam War, global poverty, race relations, humanitarian relief, etc. Apart from boxing and going on popular shows like DWTS to get more media and world exposure, Floyd doesn't so much involve himself or speak publically in the day to day events or situations that go on here in the States or around the globe.

Ali had CHARISMA. He was entertaining in side and outside the ring.

Floyd just acts like spoiled 8 year old and he's boring to watch.

Ali didn't duck anyone or avoid anyone. He fought the best. His fights are classics.

Ali got humbled by Frazier, also he did talk **** but after the fight it was nothing but praise usually

plus Ali was a product of the generation and became larger than the sport and embodied an era

Mayweather is perfect so far he hasnt lost his style has been perfected he is a great boxer, he talks **** but then i dont see him praise the guys he fought

i will agree Ali had plenty of ppl who hated his guts when he was in his prime

who knows what will happen when Floyd retires

it doesnt help that Floyd doesnt have a legendary trilogy like Ali or didnt beat his arch nemesis at the moment

Because PBF is taking the often traveled road of cynicism and self promotion.

In Ali's day, it took more true courage especially when you join a black separatist movement and willing to go to prison for it. Ali seem authentic. He talked like he had the biggest balls in the world. And he proved that he did
PBF is just another athlete that mouths off for the sake of self promotion. He is a dime a dozen at this point. And he does it all for the sake of PPV buys.
He comes across as a douche bag and not some dude going against the machine with his big cajones.

It is all about PBF 24/7.
Ali's mouth matured to something bigger than him, which in turn made him larger than life.

Oh and Ali had technical verbal skills. And...
Floyd.... uhm... a.... you know... all I am saying is.... uhm.... you know... tell me if Ali ever sold 2.4 million buys? Yeah I thought so.

Defensive fighters like Floyd will never be huge or as popular like Ali was. Floyd is pretty popular but only in the US and among fight fans.

For someone to transcend the sport and receive global popuarlity it takes

    a) Charisma

    and/or

    b) excitement

Floyd doent have either one. He talks a lot of **** and makes money off of people hate for him . He even said himself if it wasn't for his 0 people wouldnt be buying his fights.
