Why is Mayweather taking this fight much more seriously than Pac?

You just completely twisted his post. He never meant Manny training less would hinder Manny's chances, what he's saying is that Manny seems more confident than Floyd by appearing to train less. This whole topic is about the mentality of the boxers. You just twisted his comments to what you want it to appear as, not what it's intended to appear as.

As a pac fan, I'm really discouraged by pacs perceived lack of focus and the stories we are getting from camp about his demeanor as well as all the celebrity's dropping by and a few even working out with him. I have so much more respect for floyd right now and his approach.

Based on this, I feel, and I hope im wrong floyd is gonna beat his ass.

I've seen what Floyd is doing all too many times before with ex ATGS. I remember oscar chopping wood for a couple of his last fights. Its actually not a good sign when a champ starts getting out of his normal routine imputting tactics not normally used. Its the only adage don't fix what isn't broken. Fighters seem to pull this kind of stuff in their last days. And also the sparring BS, a camp feels the need to start crazy rumours to try and get in the other fighters head. Its unusal for Floyd's side to be grasping at such miniscule things, I just don't think it looks good for him.

Is this normal for Pac though? To stay relaxed and joke around during training? If it is, there's nothing to worry about. If he's being extra silly during training and having more distractions than usual, then I would worry if I was a pac fan.

Floyd's taking it more seriously because he knows all the pressure is on him. Manny is the underdog so he doesn't feel it anywhere near as big. Floyd is the one who's undefeated and despite the knockout Pac still poses the biggest threat ever to his undefeated streak. If Pac loses people will say "well, he was shot anyway after the Marquez loss" but if Floyd loses he faces so much more ridicule, because his whole gimmick is about not losing. That's how he gets fans to keep paying to watch him lose but he just never does.

Yeah, I hope you are right. It's just the biggest figh of his career, and it seems like some of his camps were more seious than others. I guess I'm thinking that floyd seems more focused and well, his fear is actually a good thing because it's fear in a controlled state that drives us to preoare our best. I wish I felt that coming more from pacs camp, a reverence for his opponent and this fight. That said I'm not there, and I don't know what's really going on. I just hope he isn't too content, or distracted, and wants this just as bad as floyd does.

Floyd can't afford to lose, and truthfully if he does it will really impact his ATG status and really give all the doubters more ammo when saying he hasn't beaten any elite and prime fighters since Castillo or corrales. A lot of people will say he was great at beating up B rated fighters or washed up greats, but when it came to facing another A+ fighter, not far from prime, he loses. If Pac beats Floyd, pac will rank higher on the ATG list without a doubt. Sure, pac has losses, been KO'd, but its about who you beat and how and pac has so many amazing victories over other ATGS close to prime.
I remember ESPN boxing created a "perfect fighter", using traits from different fighters like Oscar, Roy, Hopkins etc and they even had a record made for this fighter and said the perfect fighter should have one loss. Losses make some fighters, true champions, better than they were previously.

You really don't know much about this guy then, he even voted that floyd would win in the poll just so in his own words 'pacs win will look better'. I dont need to twist anything, everyone who's been here 5 minutes knows this guy and his alts agenda.

This is a great point. In all honesty, I would also like to see Floyd lose just to see how he bounces back from it. It'd be interesting. He's never been tested in that way. Lennox suffered a KO, and then came back and delivered his own KO to the same guy. That is equally as impressive as never losing.

no, op's saying Floyd is tense while pac looks confident acting like this is business as usual.

Personally i disagree. I like that Floyd is seriously working his butt off. I also think Pac is being typical happy Filipino and is having fun while working his butt off.

Floyd as usual highlights what he doing and tries to look bigger'n life. Pac as usual understates what he doing and hides behind a smile. As long as they working their butt off it don't matter.

    boxingscience's point remains.
