Why is Mayweather wanting M.Hatton being ignored?.. It's the reason Pac fight is off

It's the fight Mayweather wanted all along. Various sources close to the Mayweather camp have said as such. And Hopkins apparently hinted on B-Talk that Pac-Mayweather would not happen March 13. (Does anyone have a link or a quote for what Hopkins said?)

Here are some other links discussing the possibility of a Mayweather-Matthew Hatton fight from when this matchup was first mentioned (to much ridicule) to "Magic" himself confirming Mayweather's interest.

Forget what you've heard about a potential mega-fight between multi-division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao. Sources close to the information have informed us that Mayweather, who's been seen working out at his Las Vegas gym more than usual lately, already has a fight date lined up in the UK. According to one source, the three potential opponents in consideration are former welterweight champion Carlos Quintana, welterweight contender Matthew Hatton and jr. welterweight contender Dmitriy Salita.

...Personally, I sincerely hope that what we were told isn't true, but our sources are extremely reliable. Calls placed to Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe have gone unanswered, but something tells me that I'll be hearing from him real soon once news of this story reaches him.

Jeff Mayweather: “I think it’s a situation where Floyd isn’t worried too much about anything. He knows eventually that he is going to have to step up to the plate and make things happen. For the most part he has the intention of having a fight in England. I think he is focusing on that more than Manny Pacquiao. I think he is going to try to make that happen then move on to the Manny Pacquiao fight. I’m not sure who he is fighting but I know that Roger is training him know.”

"It was very surprising to be linked with him," admitted Hatton.

"I was at a friend's party when Gareth Williams from my promotional company phoned and said that Golden Boy Promotions wanted to know if I'd be interested in fighting Floyd.

"I asked him if he was being serious but Floyd's very keen on fighting in England and they asked if I'd be up for it.

"I didn't have to think about it for one second. I think it's unlikely but if the Pacquiao fight doesn't come off I'm at the top of their list of opponents.

"I'm pretty sure things would get sorted between Floyd and Manny but Floyd's camp have been in touch two or three times with mine.

"I won't get carried away though at the prospect of fighting him in case it doesn't come off but he's the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and to share a ring with him would be amazing."

take the test and the fight is on....how would floyd KNOW that this would be the one demand that would stop the fight...all he wants is a random blood test...if pac took it like most want him too than they would fight...but no matter what happens pacfans will continue to make **** up

I wouldn't even watch if he fights M.Hatton, come on man, that's a JOKE of a fight and it's a JOKE they're even considering it. I hope these are just rumors because I don't think it would be normal for them to honestly consider it. At least Malignaggi won his last fight(TWO fights to be realistic) and has made a very good unexpected come-back after losing to Hatton. M.Hatton had a draw against a shot 38 year old N'Dou in a stinker of a fight.

I am ashamed to have bought the marquez fight. I knew it would be **** becasue it was two counter-punchers, but bought it because I'm a marquez fan. NO WAY ON EARTH I'm buying another floyd fight against an over-matched opponent.

Izzy vasquez is a great fighter, but I don't want to see him fight Floyd. Maybe floyd should move up and fight A. Abraham. I would buy that.

Think about what Void, Sr. said after Pac stopped Cotto! Yep, Void, Sr. does not want Void, Jr. to fight Pac and for good reason. This fight will not happen. Everyone should just move on to another fight. Void will probably fight Christy Martin next, or will he take a very small chance vs. Hatton?
