Why is Mickey Roman getting a title shot?

    Against DeMarco... Mickey Roman is the definition of a tough journeyman Mexican fighter... nothing more.. nothing less.

    How the hell is he fighting Demarco for a strap?

    And there are talks about (And good money in) a rematch with Linares. Dont wanna screw that up.

    deMarco is doing the right thing by taking it slow and fighting journeymen, he's been burned before by trying to step it up too soon, if he had waited 7-8 years before taking a meaningful fight he probably would still be undefeated.

    Seems like a stay busy fight. Demarco will fight Linares again in July.
