Why is Mosley being so underestimated?

Mora was just too big, long arms, a lot taller, a complete miss match and he still came back and started beating his ass later in the fight. Don't hold Mora against Mosley, or Pac and Mayweather for that matter. Honestly, in his prime Mosley could have likely beat either of them, but that was then and this is now.

Against Alvarez I think he is being ridiculously underrated due to his age, and the fact that he's lost to the 2 best p4p fighters in his last 2 outings which shouldn't really count against him in my book. Bernard Hopkins has fought well into his 40's as have others, and done so with success. Alvarez isn't some phenom that can't be stopped or something. Mosley should be able to knock him out even at 40.

I think some of you forget how good he really was and how good that makes him still. Mosley is probably 70% what he once was and that's still good enough to go 24 rounds with the 2 best in the world, knockout one of the most feared punchers in Margarito, and take a guy who was way bigger than him the distance to a clean draw that could have easily went to him. Mosley is fine. Maybe he's not as hungry as he once was, and it's true that some of the reflexes aren't what they used to be. However, he is still very fast, hits very hard, is very slick, is a smart veteran fighter who knows all the in's and out's and tricks of the trade, he's still in phenomenal shape all the time. That's part of what's helped keep him younger over time, is the fact that he is a health nut. The guy is hitting the gym and running miles everyday, even when he's ON VACATION. Do not underestimate this old war horse. He's still got plenty left in the tank and plans to keep fighting over the next few years. Maybe when he's about 44-45 I'll start to agree with the pundits, but this Shane Mosley is the legend that can still go.

Forrest was a washed up mess when he fought Mora. A prime Forrest would have annihilated Mora. I think with Mora's style he would have always Given Mosley a tough fight. It doesn't change the fact that Mosley is completely shot and over matched in this fight.

Because Shane is 40 years old and has looked horrible in his last 3 fights(outside of a 30 second period against Floyd). I still believe in Mosley but he's got to show me that he's not there just for the paycheck or to not get knocked out. He needs tomake it clear(through actions in the ring, not words in the buildup to the fight) that he is going for the win or I'm not buyin another card with Mosley on it.

It's not his age. I'm aware that Mora is a bad stylistic matchup for Shane and that he rightfully should have been a big underdog against Floyd and Pacman... It's that he has shown absolutely no desire to win these fights. He was far more concerned with saying the right things before the fight but once the fight starts his only goal is to go the distance so he doesn't lose face. What the **** is the point of "being in great shape" as he likes to say when he goes in to a shell after the 3rd round?

This dude used to headline major PPV events and now I'm questioning his heart...that's right I'm questioning Shane Mosley's heart until he shows me that he's willing to risk getting KO'd to win.

Let your hands go and fight for ****s sake Shane!

Dude looked like he's beefed up at his media day workout. Maybe he'll do okay. Canelo does like to play you hit me I'll hit you back. That's never smart against a veteran with a punch. All that being said the words shot can apply describe mosely. He's really only able to maintain mental and physical sharpness for the first few rounds. I expect him to do better then he did against may and manny and I image this will be enough to give mosely supporters credence to their idea that he's still good. But he's coming hear for a pay check and to survive the distance. Mark my words.

Ps you guys do realize the only reason Shane is still fighting is to make up the cash he ex took off him.

I kinda feel the sameway. In the manny fight I watched like all his fights, especially the Margo fight and lots of his early work. I saw exactly how he could beat manny (basically using the whole circle away make him fall short and counter thing that everyone now knows is pacs kryptonyte). And then his feet did it....but he never pulled the trigger. Which means one of two things, he didn't want to or he couldn't. Alvarez is a huge puncher with accuracy and combination punching. If mosely didn't pull the trigger when he had PAC exactly where he wanted him I'll be surprised if he does against Alvarez.

Alvarez might be young but he's beaten quility guys. Mosley has had 3 bad fights in a row.
If anyone can pull the rabbit out of the hat it's Mosley, but can he do it again?
Most likely Alvarez will win. However, with Mosley there is always the posibility of an upset. Which makes the fight more exciting.

It's what happens when your body doesn't respond to PEDs anymore. Same thing is happening to PEDcquiao.

If you're questioning his heart being a 40 year old who fought the likes of Mayweather, DLH x2(Was his first fight moving up TWO weight divisions to beat DLH at 147), Wright x2, Pacquiao, Concheato, Collazo, Mayorga, Vargas x2, Forrest x2, Leija, Cotto, Mora and whoever else I'm forgetting then I will have to question your lack of brains.

The man is 40 years old, do you expect him to let his hangs go in the ring just as easy as you type it?. ******.

dude, alvarez is a solid 154 hungry lion who puts his combos together pretty well. yes his foot speed is a little slow but he makes up for it by having decent defense and heavy hands. I think Mosley will go into run mode like he did against Pac when he feels the thudding punches of Saul. Alvarez is an up and coming star, it's Chavez jr. that is an overhyped boxer.
