Shane wasn't/isn't the same fighter he was when he beat Hoya either. Still he put natural LMW Fernando Vargas down with a one shot, a perfect left hook at mid-stage and that has nothing to do with Vargas being shot, I suppose.

Hatton was an undefeated LWW and was considered to be Floyd's greatest challenge late in 2007. At that point, Collazo hurt Hatton badly in the last stanza and lost somehow controversially against him on points. Shane beat him 9 ROUNDS to 2 - I'm sorry but that should tell about the same as Floyd winning a shutout against Baldomir.

I respectfully disagree. Shane's biggest moment since losing to Vernon was the rematch against Hoya in one of the most awaited matches of recent years in UNLV even if that was a controversial win. Hey, Cotto's win over Shane wasn't exactly a comfortable one. Again, if Mayo beats Shane even if with a close debatable decision, Shane is over.
