Arum knows this more than anyone but is playing his well known hate game because Mayweather left him, he did worse with DLH. If these guys don't fight good enough opponents then wasn't HE responsible for lining guys up for them?, does that mean he sucks too?. It's an obvious ignorant blind hate game and it's good, it forces these guys to prove otherwise by taking competitive fights.
Not at all. Margarito was far more hyped when Mosley got to him than Williams was and Mosley got over fighting these guys, you fight these guys early in your career to prove a point and prove you're ATG stuff. Mosley crossed that line long ago and didn't really need to fight Margarito, Cotto or Berto(till it got canceled) to prove his self for no one, that's just Mosley for you. It's the big money fights that he deserves and Mayweather, Pacquiao and others at that level provide it, Williams sadly doesn't.
Why? Because he is old, inactive, and probably in on the deal. Floyd wins - easily (unless they want to make it look close to have a rematch). Floyd's fights are some of the most scripted in boxing.
Ah, the dreaded dog better.... Betting boxing is so different then almost all other sports. The favorites win so much more in boxing then people realize. (-200 or worse) Truth is in the numbers. I give Mosley at best a 20 percent chance of winning. 80 percent to win roughly = (-430) odds Mayweather to win. If you think that Mosley's chances are better then 20 percent you certainly need to get your money on Mosley.
Mayweather -450 Mosley +300 The lines were quite a bit closer when the fight was signed, a good indication of a ton of money coming in on Mayweather. I think a lot of smart gamblers will wait for the odds to max out, then place a bet on Mosley. If you can more than triple your money, why not take a shot? Just don't bet much. BTW, the same thing happenned with Pac/Cotto. Cotto was paying over 2.5/1 after the weigh in, then a ton of money came in on Cotto and moved the line back.
I'm a fan of Mosley's but there's a ton working against him. First, he's been inactive for waaaay too long against a guy who is tough for your first fight back in over a year. People make a lot about Shane's troubles against someone with a good jab because it's been true in the past, one thing that surprisingly isn't mentioned much is that Shane had a really hard time with Winky's defense(it's probably not brought up because they're different styles, but Floyd's a great defensive fighter nonetheless). Shane hasn't looked particularly good in recent years sans Margarito fight...and Floyd's not a Margarito, he's not going to run in face first and let you land haymakers all day just so he can try to get his. I give Shane a shot in the fight but like I said, he's up against it.
Shane Mosley is gonna get beat up pretty bad in this fight. His punches always looked telegraphed. Mayweather is gonna disect him. Shane is gonna look good for the first 3 or 4 rounds until Mayweather starts getting loose and stopping him in his tracks with jabs to the stomach and right hands.
I think people consider Floyd to be too damn fast for Mosley, at least at this stage of Sugar's career. And the fact that Shane destroyed Margo hardly applies since comparing Floyd and Margo is like comparing night and day. The probablilty is that Floyd wins by decision, but it is the possibility that Shane pulls the win that makes this bout interesting.
Because Mosley's recent fights with people whom boxed weren't exactly stellar(the Mayorga fight and the Cotto fight) and he is going into a fight with someone who has more boxing ability in his pinky than those guys combined. Honestly Mosley would have a better shot moving up to 160 and beating Sergio Martinez than he does winning against Mayweather.
He was defeated by Cotto. This time he is not able to use EPO which gave him a push against DLH and some other fighters. He will look his age without using EPO.
Give me an example of mosleys devastating power ? He has 0 chance of koing floyd even if he lands flush.
