Tyson is the last heavyweight to be widely considered no1 pfp, this was up until he lost to Buster Douglas, it was argued between him and Chavez but after the Tyson loss, Chavez was the consensus no 1 guy.

They sometimes have HWs on there but I think they're often hesitant.

I wonder if they're going by that myth that the term pound-for-pound was invented for Sugar Ray Robinson and not meant for heavyweights.

That's exactly my point. I don't see how anyone can rank Dawson and leave Wlad off because of complaints about competition because Wlad's beaten more ranked fighters in his class, unified against other beltholders, and been more dominant in doing it than Dawson.

It'd be one thing if 175 was better than Heavyweight, but it's not.

Personally, I rank Dawson as well as Wlad...but it just boggles me when I see Dawson cracking the top 3-5 area of some lists with Wlad not making the top 10.

well, they are not american for starters... then they are in a HW division where there are no any good americans... the ring had Adamek Arreola fight as a A card ranked, and WK vs Chambers as a B+ card... Arreola vs Minto was an HBO fight, WK vs Chambers (or Chagaev) was not.

and then all the bs with paul wiliams in the p4p...it just blows your mind.

    Spot on. :good

Vitali blue collars his way to victory with grit, tenacity, and determination. Wlad, on the other hand, possesses the physical tools and talent to warrant a slot on the P4p rankings.

It seems like the concensus among boxing fans is that Wlad belongs in the top 15 p4p, if not top 10. You can make what you want of Ring rankings, they're highly subjective anyway

I agree. The most dominant guys in boxing atm are Floyd, Pacquiao and the Klitschkos

There are a lot of myths out there:

    1) the ring list is own by Oscar and is biased:
Truth: it is a blue ribbon panel that picks the p4p list

    2) A bais exist against heavyweights:
Truth: As stated Tyson and LL amongst several others have been on the list

    3) the Kbros have the skill to be in the top ten:
Truth: if every fighter were the exact same weight and adjusted proportionatly would the Kbros skills be enough to beat everyone on th top ten list . . . no. they are by far the best heavies on the planet, beat this current crop of crap with ease and are very, very good fighters. However, skill wise the do not measure up.

Wladimir is The Ring Magazine Champion, so he belongs in this list.

Man Vitali would kick Wlad's ass. Wlad does not have the chin to be in any top ten list.

Excellent skills for a heavyweight, but if he was the same size and weight as all those guys above him (and probably a couple more) his skill would not measure up.
