Why is Novirasputin suddenly so obsessed with Lennox?

Like with many intelligent boxing fans, time creates a disdain for overrated fighters and Lennox had a glass jaw.

    Hmmm... interesting theory.

So I guess that means Tyson and Tua were feather-fisted?

Or maybe it was because Lennox's defence was so awesome that only 2 clean punches ever landed on him in his entire career, which would make him one of the best defensive fighters in history and therefore UNDERrated.

    Definitley.

Overrated because he's not a top 10 HW and most consider him to be, defence is definitley underrated however.

Where do you rate him and who do you have ahead of him?

I have Lewis in the top 10, but not top 5 or top 2 or 3 like some do

LL is definately in my top 5 HW of all time. Just the fact that LL never had a prime but was equally good from beginning to the end says it all. And he beat all the greats of the time, even if they were in decline - who says he wouldn't have done it in their peak? Okay, I think prime Tyson would have beaten him, but who really knows.

Who other 5-9 deserves to be above him?

You could make arguments for Dempsey, Frazier, Johnson, and Foreman, but you could make equally strong arguments for Lennox. In a way, I think his accomplishments are underrated.

I find it difficult to rate those of the old age - the times were different. The negatives were that they fought anyone - from coalminers to boxers. The positives were that they fought all the time.

However I have Gene Tunney above LL, Dempsey and Johnson. I think that Foremans great comeback make him edge a place above LL, but I can't really put Frazier above him.

He lost to Foreman and Ali, and never retributed once he lost. Arguement can be held that the era was stronger, but thats not to say that Lennox would rule that era as well.

Dempsey . I don't think so. I don't generally go back that far but Dempsey boxed at middlewt and I can't see him dealing with Lennox's size.

(Before some wag asks: So he's bigger, that means he's better. huh ?
Let me say: A good big man usually beats a good little man.)

On a given night, Dempsey might prevail, but most of the time, I'd pick Lennox. The game had changed too much and Lennox was too good (and too big) for Jack.

Other than Ali, Louis and Foreman, I don't see anyone I'd pick over Lennox on any given night.

    Definitely an ATG.

And as for the guy who earlier described Tyson as feather-fisted ?????????

Hall of fame Yes but this ATG stuff is just crazy.

Even though he beat him late in his career I'd put Tyson above him, youngest ever HW champion and dominant in his prime too. However I'm bias.

Where would you rate Lennox All-Time, and who do you have above him?
