Why is Pacquiao Marquez I not considered a clear win for Pacquiao?

A reminder to Pacturds, the Pinoy broadcast team scored the first 3 fights for Marquez.
Not much else needs to be said here.

Maybe they scored it that way. So what? I think more media scored it for Pac than Marquez.

I remember a fabulous article after Pac Marquez 3. It provided commentary on Marquez's losses to Pac.

The author pointed something out. He said pac continually throws more punches and lands more. He then challenged Marquez to sit down on some hard lower shots and be more active. Marquez then KOed Pacquiao in their next fight.

It doesn't matter which fights they won. They both great but Pacman will always be greater. Fighter of the decade. 8 division champ.

Marquez is a borderline ATG. I used to think he was a clear ATG, but not anymore. He only got a clear win over Pacquiao after Pac was declined. He was dropped, hurt and stunned by Pac repeatedely. And even though he held his own well against Manny that's just one matchup.

His losses to Norwood, John, Bradley, etc. Don't look good.

Outside of Pac who did Marquez really fight and hold his own with? A nearly totally shot Marco Antonio Barrera

The first Pacquiao-Marquez fight was not quite a clear win for Pacquiao. Marquez easily won more rounds despite the three knockdowns in round 1. The only clear win for Pacquiao was the second Marquez fight IMO. Pacquiao actually scored a lot of clean lefts on Marquez throughout the fight despite Marquez getting in some hard licks as well. Pacquiao won 6 rounds MAX against Marquez in the third fight. I felt that Marquez deserved to shade it. Unfortunately, Marquez only really matched up against Pacquiao and is only a borderline ATG like Tinman said.

Morales lost to Raheem, Diaz, Maidana, so why is he an ATG in your eyes but JMM is borderline? That doesn't make any ****ing sense. JMM went to war with naturally bigger guys just as Pac did and won, like Baby Bull, Katsidis, Casamayor, Alvarado, ect. He arguably beat Pac 4-0 and has one of the best one punch knockout wins of the last decade, he's an ATG period... GTFOH

And JMM beat the "nearly totally shot" Barrera who happened to have a better fight against Pacquaio several months later than he had 4 years prior when he was supposedly "in his prime"!.. so he wasn't totally shot, tinham..

Marquez resume is relatively soft outside of Pacquiao. That's why he's a borderline ATG.

Morales is the only man who actually defeated a prime Pacquiao. He also beat Barrera or at least better version of Barrera.

While Marquez and Morales both beat Barrera and Pac. The versions that Morales beat were younger and better.

Dude, don't forget, I score fights based on Ring Generalship, Defense, Damage inflicted, How the punches are landed and how much damage they've done. It's a collective scoring system, that's why someone can score a knockdown and still lose the round.

The Pacquiao-Marquez I fight is a prime example to use and bear with me because I don't recall specific rounds. Should Pacquiao have won? Probably. But to ask why it wasn't a CLEAR victory? Well because, simply put, it wasn't. Yes Pacquiao scored the knockdowns and damage in the early rounds and bam he's up 10-6, or 10-7. His knockdowns and damage inflicted was accounted for already. Marquez could barely win enough rounds to still win, it's an uphill battle but it's possible. I've seen this too many times, and it's typically from "casuals" (people who don't regularly watch or follow boxing), where they're confused how the fighter who scored the knockdown(s) and did more damage still lost. People forget that the fight is scored round by round.

I've seen it with the Pac-JMM 1, Bradley vs Provodnikov, Kovalev vs Ward, the list goes on. A knockdown and hurting your opponent does not guarantee you a victory, it merely increases your chances.

Also, "we did discover why so many score fights poorly, because they think they're scoring amateur fights.", TELL THAT TO THE GUYS CLAIMING KOVALEV WON BASED ON COMPUBOX. I don't score fights based purely on compubox either.

Pac won 10-6 in the first round. He also clearly won the second round 10-9. The means Marquez could only afford to lose 1 of the 10 remaining rounds and still win. 2 rounds for a draw. And 3 or more rounds he lost.

For those who say Marquez won. Do you really believe he won 9 of the 10 final rounds?

That's why I say it was a clear Manny win. Are we really going to give Marquez 9 of the 10 final rounds?

I don't remember specific rounds, I do know the fight was close and I believe I did score it for Marquez. Made a thread on it long time ago. Pacquiao was severely outboxed.
