Why is Pacquiao willing to fight Loma instead of Crawford?

Pac has a much better chance against Lomo than Crawford in my opinion. Lomachenko has never fought above 130 pounds. Now he's going to jump three divisions to 147 and face Pacquiao? Don't know about that.

I quite like the fight. I'd say it should be done at 140 to make it fairer to Loma, but I'd take 135, even if I think Pac would basically just be walking the plank at that weight. I wouldn't go crazy with plaudits for Loma if he were to beat an older Pac at a weight he hasn't hit in around 10 years, but it would be a good way for him to announce himself at 135-140 and set up meaningful fights with the likes of Garcia. If he beats Pac at 147, even a version pushing 40 years of age after nearly a quarter-century in the business, that's a commendable bit of work for Loma.

No serious boxing fan imo can call Pac a Hype job he proved that he weren't one more than a decade ago. Garcia wouldnt have been a cherry pick, however Khan, Berto, Indongo and Broner would, all of those guys have been beaten at least twice in their last 5. with the exception of Indongo but he just got destroyed by crawford at a lower weight.
it would be at 138 probably no way would Loma make that fight at 147.

JMM took 4 fights. Floyd ran and grab, I don't see what he exposed. Pac is an attacker but the shorter fighter, when Pac made it inside, Floyd leaned below the belt, pushed himself to him, clinched, reset and start all over again.

The only thing he exposed is you can grab your way to victory.

It's exposing a flaw in the boxing system. John Ruiz beat much much better fights than he was by using the punch and grab technique. I'm not being salty about it, Floyd did what he did to win, but it wasn't within the realms of boxing IMO. I would have taken a point for every grab as its illegal.

All else being the same, from his POV, if he's being to be fed to either of Bob's new cashcows, barring a triumphant upset - why not lose a nice UD to a smaller, relatively feather-fisted guy (and suffer the minor embarrassment of being the slower man in the ring for practically the first time in your career) rather than get KTFO by a bigger guy packing a bigger pound for pound wallop?

Crawford has plenty of options. No need to try and hang his hat on this fight too long.

This. Now for a moment, pretend you’re Bob Arum. Who would you rather see your proven cash cow pass the torch to?

Crawford: from Omaha, bland personality, physically bigger, and black without the cocky Mayweather/Broner mannerisms.

Loma: Eastern European, easily marketable based 2 Olympic gold medals, a 396-1 amateur record, winning a title in his 3rd fight, white.

If you’re a greedy promoter like Arum, the answer should be easy.

You guys calling for Pac vs. Crawford are just depressing.

If you want to see an uncompetitive KO then go watch a PBC card...

Anyone watching the Pac v Horn fight with two eyeballs and two brain cells realizes that Manny can't beat a prime Crawford at 147lbs. The guy just lost to Jeff Horn.

The only thing that makes Pac vs Loma IS THE SIZE ADVANTAGE. It's a competitive, tough fight for both guys. We haven't seen Manny at 140lbs or below in TEN years. He's much more natural at this weight.

The fight would make a lot of money.. Would motivate him legacy wise.. I think he doesn't care about Horn anymore since he believes the fight was a robbery and he won.. I think the Lomachenko fight would be amazing for his resume and already HOF career.. Its like a Rocky movie the old champ comes back to fight the young champ one last time.. Well see.. If he loses Arum has his new cash cow for a while too.. If I were Arum Id make that fight.. Crawford and Horn are good but they are both unkown af to the casual eye

Exactly. Young p4p multi division champion looking to grab the torch from a bigger Boxing legend at the twilight of his career. The styles between the two fights are completely different...DLH and PAC were completely different styles. Manny and Loma are both southpaws and throw a ton of punches...they both use a lot of movement so this fight will be action packed.
