Why is PBF semi retired when there are so many good boxers that would challenge his

What about Pacquiao v Morales II and III , Pacquiao v Barrera II, Pacquiao v Marquez II ... all had that WBC int. title involved.

Instead of fighting for the title Pacquiao took all those rematches.

Its all about the money with every fighter ... you think that Pac if fighting for the prestige?

Now he's looking for bigger money fights and if he keeps winning thats what he's looking forward to. He's already making millions for each fight on ... but he's going to be in that 8 figure range pretty soon. You think that Pacquiao doesn't care about who he fights ...

 

people brining up Oscar de la Hoya in a thread bashing Floyd for being semi retired are rediculous.

Oscar De La Hoya himself has been semi-retired since 2004 and arguably even before that.

ODLH has 9 fights in the last 7 years

Most people talk about Mayweather like he's done nothing in his whole career. The truth is that Mayweather has been fighting at the top since 1998, since his 17th fight.

 

What boxers are there to fight (for PBF) besides ... Cotto? ... the rest are over the hill or up and comers.

I don't get why more boxers keep getting thrown in the mix ... when the real challenger will come from the Margarito v Cotto winner ... the most two accomplished WW out there --

And must we keep neglecting that Floyd is the champion?

He's only fought 4 times at Weterweight.

A first fight at the weight against Mitchell, then Judah, Baldomir and Hatton.

If you rank Judah in the top ten when Floyd fought him, then it's hard to see how Baldomir would not be. Hatton was number one LWW.

Everybody wanted those rematches.. It's like like Pac vs JMM.. Those are legacy fights/trilogies.. Floyd vs DLH & Hatton again is not.. Nobody wants to see them again.. I know Floyd is fighting Oscar for the money, but that should not be a reason to not fight people like Cotto or Margo.. Like he needs anymore money?

Speculation keeps people on top even without proving anything.

 

Sorry, but that's just bollocks. He can't be fighting for the money if nobody wants to see the fights, because there would be no money in them. You can argue one or the other if you want, but not both.

 

DLH has his own set of fans, just like Pacquiao does and they believe that he almost beat Mayweather and for some bizzare reason they think that (like Oscar) ... if he's more active and uses his jab more that he can win.

I'm sure that reguardless of what anyone on EBS thinks ... this fight would generate atleast 1m buys and would hit hard at the gate.

Just because you or I don't believe in this fight doesn't mean that other fans won't. You also have to factor in the casual fans that would flock to this fight.
