The notion that if Floyd makes it to 50-0, he has the all time record for retiring undefeated as a chamion, is simply untrue. Ricardo Lopez retired as champion at 51-0-1. Yes, he had a draw, but he never lost and was undefeated by definition. Sure, Marciano had bigger names on his record, but facts can not be disputed. Floyd has to make 52-0 in order to have the record.

It's too bad Lopez didn't fight at flyweight. He could have been a three weight champion.

Floyd's 50 and 0 record would be the longest unblemished streak in history, but Ricardo Lopez indeed would have more wins on his ledger. Jimmy Barry would still hold the record for most wins by a world champion who retired undefeated (59-0-9 in a career that spanned throughout the 1890's.

nothing to do with a draw, just the weights he fought at.

Naw, it's both. In some people's eyes that draw deserves an asterik and therefore is not a clean undefeated record.

Any knowledgeable fan will give him proper credit. Lopez retired undefeated with 51 wins. FLoyd needs one more win to catch up to Marciano and 3 more to catch up to Finito(will not happen).

Finito was as good a fighter as I've ever seen. He may even have as few flaws as Mayweather. Floyd will not get out of this sport undefeated. Karma will not allow it. Finito did, because he was never greedy and just did his job. Retiring undefeated was more a product of that, or a bonus. He was not a product of being undefeated though.
