Yep. The US had a small percentage and they were caught and humiliated (not rewarded) like Lance Armstrong when he got caught.
Unlike Russia, Steroid use in the US is not encouraged by the government. :deal

He was hugely talented, that much is obvious. And entertaining.

In cycling terms he's more Pantani than Armstrong.

Isn't it bad enough that he's reducing to getting laid out in Russia? Even if ppl still thought he walked on water doesn't change the fact that he's way past his expiration date.

they don't all take peds and the top guys can do it far better and more effectively so it doesn't even out and if Roy fought more top opponents he wouldn't have looked as spectacular like in the first Hopkins fight

He was a terrific fighter and a rare talent and obviously you can't just attribute everything he achieved to his PED usage. Chances are he still would've been a great fighter even if he hadn't turned to the Dark Side. However, he was a PED cheat and it should not be swept under the carpet and ignored. And it's obvious he was using them for a long time too. I know he's not the only one out there who cheated, and there's obviously many more who have done so who escaped being caught, but he did cheat and it does and should taint his legacy.

Because it's the American mentality: cheat to win.

Look at all their best boxers of the last 20 years- everyone of them have either been caught, ducked extra testing or have used IV's: Mayweather, Jones, Toney, Holyfield, Mosley, Tarver, Hopkins, Ward,

It's part of the reason why Calzaghe is so hated by them. He did what he did by legit means

    Nonsense.

    He's criminally underrated by many.

Everyone fights so called bums. The majority of them were mandatories. He also consistently beat top ten ranked guys and made decent fighters appear to be bums. He was actually too good for his own good.

The versions of him that fought from 91-03, would have been favoured over anyone today from JMW-CW.

    It's all BS.

List all the fighters who fought in Roy's era, around the same weight classes.

Then tell me who's got a better resume than Roy.

Who makes a fuss about him being weight drained for the Tarver rematch? He was weight drained for the first fight. He was in much better shape for the rematch, both mentally and physically. He just got caught by a perfect shot. It happens.
