Wow, this is just as wrong as saying steroids do absolutely nothing for a fighter. Roy was a rare talent regardless. Anyone can see that.

    Hotsauce,

According to various reports, Roy met Mike in Miami at an awards ceremony in 2003, and then later, Roy and his promoter, Murad Muhammad, spoke to Mike over the phone. But to my knowledge, no official negotiations with Mike's promoter ever took place.

In 2004, the idea of it was crushed when Roy and Mike both suffered knockout defeats. But if those losses hadn't have happened, then I think there would have been a chance of it happening.

Right, but my outlook is that most of the top guys (95%) were, and are still using.

The ones who get caught are NOT more guilty IMO. Just less careful.
A test comes up for a new drug, and people get caught. People use another untested drug until the next guy gets caught, and so forth.
The bad part is these new untested for drugs carry unknown side effects in some cases, and are probably more dangerous than regular well known prescription testosterone.

It would be great if everyone was clean, but that is very unrealistic.

For instance. Boxer (A) is clean, but going into his first big fight rumors are going around that his opponent Boxer (B) is on PEDS.
Now Boxer (A) starts taking them to level the playing field.
This is how, and why we have a doping problem. Well at least part of the problem.

People ITT don't understand how PEDs work. If you gave them to an average Joe on the streets, they won't turn him into Bo Jackson.

    It would have been great.

I doubt it'd have gone ahead though, even if Roy had been open to it.

There would have been lots of obstacles to overcome.
