His resume is terrible,he fought only b class fighters and was put to sleep MORE TIMES THEN I CAN COUNT.All the highlights i see of him i can't even name the fighter he is in against. This guy is a joke, and never beat anyone worth mentioning.James Toney is one of his biggest wins and he himself never beat anyone. Why are these fighters so overhyped?

Making *******s look bad. And that takes some work.

I'm pretty sure "team elite" will be sending you an invitation to join in about 30 seconds, though.

Being one of very few to win titles in the middle and heavyweight division may have something to do with it. I mean it only took over 100 years for another person to do it, no big deal. Best Hopkins, toney, tarver, griffin and some other honorable opponents too. Oh yea he was also one of if not the most athletic boxers to lace em up. :hi:

Dude, go and learn about Roy Jones. You just looked at Boxrec.

Pound for pound, he was arguably the BEST fighter of all time. He made EASY work of all of these fighters. He's not a defensive fighter but they'd not be able to land a punch due to his unparalleled reflexes and athleticism. He does have some good names on his resume but the names do not do ANY justice to his talent. James Toney is a top fighter, go check his record specifically from 1991-1994. He beat monsters in this sport.

As you get older, you lose speed, reflexes & athleticism and have to change your game up and fight differently. Roy Jones went up to heavyweight and beat a pretty decent heavyweight there, then he lost 25lbs of solid muscle, aged 34 which is quite old - VERY old for someone whos strengths came from beating guys on the basis of reflexes and athleticism. He was sluggish and past it.

All Time Greats Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Felix Trinidad; Hall of Famers Mike McCallum, Virgil Hill, (future) Antonio Tarver. And a string of top-ranked champions and contenders. Now log off.

Mike Mcallum is an ATG, James Toney and Felix Trinidad aren't.

All three are first ballot hall of famers

Mike Mccallum has to be regarded as an ATG, he only ever lost one close decision in his prime to Kalambay. He beat Mccrory, Curry, Watson, Graham, Kalambay, Julian Jackson and Steve Collins. When past his best he still gave a young James Toney all he could handle, and won a world title at LHW when 38 years old, incredible career and a great fighter

James Toney is a HOF'er, but there are a lot of question marks surrounding his career. Great win over Michael Nunn, did well to beat an ageing Mike Mccallum, Reggie Johnson and other solid fighters like Sosa and Thornton. Got dominated against Roy Jones, and lost fights he should have won against the likes of Drake Thadzi and Dave Tiberi. I don't rate his HW run much at all, how can you? He got busted twice for steroids

Trinidad is a HOF'er, but I've always felt he was somewhat overrated, got a gift against Oscar, beat a shot Whitaker. Very good wins against Vargas and Joppy, got dominated by Hopkins and Wright. I don't think of him in the same class as a great like Mccallum, or Hopkins

    What do you think?

Because in his prime he was the closest thing to superman in a boxing ring, that's why.
