Why is Roy Jones so eager to fight Calzaghe?

Plain and simple, it's the best fight out there for Roy.

 

Biggest fight and most $$ out there for him. AND he can beat Joe. If he beats Joe, he can either retire or go after Tarver or Johnson - depending on how he does of course.

 

Exactly:good Aside from this Roy hasnt changed his style one bit whereas Popkins over the years has resorted to Hattonesque wrestling bull****.....Roy was better in 93 and is STILL better today anyone who disagrees should have their ****ing head checked with the quickness:yep

 

Why is Roy so eager to fight Calzaghe ? Why is Tarver why was Hopkins why was anyone at super middle ? Jones ability is still good enough to compete with Joe ..He has as much experience as him as well as Hopkins ..Even at this stage its a competitve fight ..

Look at Joe's fights with Beika ,Kessler and Hopkins ..You can't tell me Jones isn't as good if not better than all 3 mentioned with the exception of Hopkins..The only fight Joe looked close to dominant was in the Kessler fight and thats not saying much ..

I think thats why Jones feels eager .

 

He's so eager to fight Calzaghe because it's a lot of money and the biggest possible fight that he can make.

I'm sure he knows that he will probably lose.

 

Simple, he needs a good retirement money.

 

For no fear of being punched in a fight with Joe !

 

Interesting thought espescially being as Jones has trampled over much better fighters throughout his career:deal and the only thing Jones has to worry about is serious power....which the Cardiff Ice Rink Champ doesnt have...He'll molest Joe one handed like he molested a prime Hopkins:yep

 

I don't think Jones fights for money ..I highly doubt he's hurting in that dePT..
