Martinez beat two p4pers in sensational fashion along with solid performances. One of those guys was also the lineal champ at 160. TB is good and he belongs up there, but he hasn't beat any p4pers or taken the lineal championship at any weight yet. He is somewhat of an unknown commodity in some ways.

:good my bad if i sounded like an a**hole

  5. He has 42 wins vs complete nobodies.

He lost to Margarito and Paul Williams.

He beat Dzinziruk and Barker who beat ?
His win vs Williams was great but is that and Pavlik possibly during his lowest point really make him all that ?

I understand he beat lineal champs but at the same time we know the organizations that rank and give belts are complete crap.

With all the evidence Today, Sergio still has a lot to prove and is running out of time.

Sergio is also THE champion of his division. Bradley isn't THE champion of any division.

Cintron wasn't on his way to beating anybody. Sergio beat a top 10 pfp fighter, Bradley hasn't.

Really you are trying to split hairs. P4P isn't a real list and it's just a guess of who are the best guys out there. As long as the right guys are up there, that matters most. If you want to rank TB ahead of SM then do it.

As far as the two fighters in questions, TB is good and he has beat solid contenders, but none of those guys are any more proven than the batch of recent fighters Martinez has taken on. The main reason I rank Martinez ahead are the reasons I stated above. So basically you have two guys who have taken on solid contenders, but one guy has beaten two p4pers, one being a lineal champ.

  9. Forget Lineal bs. The P4P rankings need to reflect a lot of different aspects and serve as a system of checks and balances to the corrupt alphabet soup organizations. Tim Bradley > Sergio

Sergio Martinez is definately above TB, I cant see TB dispatching a fighter of the quality of P Williams in devastating fashion.

Dont rate TB on p4p level tbh, he does a lot very well but does nothing spectacular, he doesnt belong in a top 10 p4p for me..

Uh what does the lineal title have to do with sanctioning bodies?

Exactly. This guy's verbalizing from the anus.

  13. Everything. You can't hold a title without a sanctioning body.

Yes you can. Martinez is clearly and uncontroversially the lineal middleweight champion right now even though he's been stripped of all his alphabet titles. You might want to review the concept of a lineal title.

Martinez is far superior to Bradley. I hope they fight at a catchweight of 150 or so.
