Why is Sonny, Liston so hated now ?

    Listons nose was also broken in the 1st Cleveland Williams fight, and saying he has no heart is dumb look at his last fights...

    Anyone who doesn't have him in their top 10 heavyweight of all time list is a fool in my opinion.

    I have him at # 6

    liston had, imo, below average heart for a professional fighter. he quit not just once, but twice during title bouts. that psychological flaw would cost him against elite heavyweights imo

    Liston is more popular than ever. He's certainly most popular and respected than he was during his era.

    I believe it was Chuvalo who pointed out that Liston has become almost a romantic figure in boxing lore, since people sympathize with Liston's suffering at the hands of the establishment while overlooking is villainous personality.
