Why is Spence fighting Porter?

    Why is Spence fighting Porter? He is complaining about Crawford vs Brook. But Brook beat Porter so did Ugas and Thurman. Spence is using the same excuse as Tank Davis "wrong side of the fence" excuse.

    Spence is turning into diva since getting good purses.

    Porter has a belt and would be considered among the top 5 WW's. Fighting and defeating him achieves partial unification and puts another top WW on his resume.

    Porter is top 5 WW and he is WBC champ! Plus Spence is his mandatory now.

    Haymon is attempting to build a "mega fight" starring Spence vs Thurman. We can just guess that after Porter, because we know Shawn is gonna beat himself more than Spence can, Errol is gonna face Danny Garcia, then Thurman. The question is can Thurman stay undefeated long enough to make it to a Spence fight?
    I say Thurman owes Josesito a rematch. Maybe Thurman vs Berto is a safe fight next, maybe Thurman vs Granados? No, Granados has too much chin for Once Upon a Time Thurman. How about Thurman vs Salka? Haymon can drag Salka up from 130 to 147 for Thurman. That will prepare him for Errol Spence.

    Pacquiao Vs. Thurman in July. Will probably be announced next week after Canelo-Jacobs.

    Spence fighting Porter now is much more meaningful than Spence fighting Brook.

    Well, I like this fight. Why not? it's not a bad fight, I will gladly watch it.

    Cool. Then Thurman can retire from boxing and roam the earth with his flute and fight crime with kung fu.
    Pacquiao vs Spence it is. But why not just fight Crawford when he was at Top Rank?

    Pacquiao was disrespected by Top Rank. They wanted Pac to fight on a Crawford undercard after the Horn robbery. Pac is well past his prime but any 147lb would jump at a chance to fight him because he is the money fighter at welterweight.

    Why? Because this is boxing and that's how it works. The top 2 or three guys are prohibited from fighting each other, so that years later, after they've retired, we can still be debating who would have won. It's so much fun.

    Spence will run out of opponents. Spence beats porter, Pac beats Thurman, then Spence vs Pac and winner faces Crawford.

    Thurman (WBA super champ) is fighting Pacquiao (WBA regular champ) this summer (on PPV, I believe) and Spence (IBF champ) is fighting Porter (WBC champ) either a week before or after.

    Basically there's a welterweight unification going on this year. But Crawford isn't invited.

    That any man may fight Errol Spence,
    Aside from Bud Crawford cause that guys a bum,
    We don't like Top Rank or their head Bob Arum,

    We've shed loads of Welters for Errol to beat,
    Whilst Bud you can rot on your side of the street,
    So we'll take on Shawn Porter Keith Thurman or Manny,
    But not Terence Crawford cause he's just a fanny,
