The Pac/Thurman fight is the pass the torch fight in the eyes of the casual boxing fan. That is a HUUUGE! opportunity for Thurman to make himself a ppv seller. He can become the A side if he can win spectacularly against Pac. This is Thurmans moment to really assert himself "the man" at WW. If he loses to Pac his career takes a serious, serious hit especially if he doesnt look good. Unless youre a Pac fan or hate Thurman we should all be hoping for Thurman to look spectacular that fight in a big win because that does a lot more for the sport than a Pac win.
Brook is now shot to pieces. Watch his last fight. Even if you argue he fought down to the level of his competition he still looked terrible. The Brook that Spence fought may have been shot but how can we know? His only loss at that point was to GGG back when Golovkin was steam rolling everyone foolish enough to not duck him.
Why is Spence fighting.... the.. 4th or 5th ranked Welterweight? Who is one of the premier names in the division and who is a common opponent ti Spences main PBC rival in Thurman? And who, while having lost some competitive fights, has never been properly vanquished in the ring? Seems like an odd question. Exactly who are all these people he should be fighting instead? Besides Crawford and Thurman?
Why are people criticizing Spence for fighting his second world class opponent who is his own size? What, you want him to face another career 140 Paulie level featherfist like Algieri and Peterson who were or who should've been 1-2 in their last 3 fights or a blown up 135 pounder like Mikey who was fighting in his 5th weight class, one he'd never fought in, and was giving away every single possible physical advantage and not by a little bit either. I think Spence should be commended for daring to be great by fighting a world class opponent his own size for the second time in his career, not criticized for it.
Then you can't complete the unification without HIS belt can you. Unlike this fake "unification" Crawford actually held all four belts in a weight division. Haymon can continue his charade but the boxing public knows better
I am seriously annoyed with all the talk Spence is doing. Just shut about Crawford already. This is a common theme with these PBC guys. They are all talk and keep saying "down the line". However I am happy with Spence-Porter. Good fight to make.
1. Bob Arum has proven he's an unreasonable ***** to work with 2. It's extremely easy to make that fight, they're both under the same banner and advisory services. 3. Porter is a top 4 ranked WW with a title and a 2 time beltholder in the division. 4. When it comes to Arum, the wrong side of the fence argument is a very legitimate argument (don't pretend it's not) At the end of the day, it's in no way shape or form a bad fight. Everyone knows the alpha fight at the weight class currently is Spence and Crawford but it's not like Spence is fighting some no hoper. 3 years ago, quite a few people would've had Porter beating Spence.
Spence is fighting Porter to take the prestigious WBC belt. He wants all the titles before he goes up to continue his reign of domination
There are four belts up for grabs (thanks to the WBA). Pacquiao and Thurman have them. Who did Crawford unify against. Julius Indongo? (LOL)
Apparently the word unify is over your head. Crawford beat Burns IN Scotland, Postol in Las Vegas and Indongo in Lincoln Nebraska. The comment was that they Spence was "unifying the belts at 147." He can't do it without fighting Crawford.
Porter is a much more credible fighter than Brook right now. Porter has come back against decent fighters and rebuilt after every loss. Brook is only caring about Khan. Porter has a world title too, this is a legit fight and an interesting one too.
